With all excitement surrounding DICE's Star Wars Battlefront ramping up it's easy to forget that another EA developer, Visceral, is working on a Star Wars game of their own. A lot of speculation and rumors about this game have permeated the web, most pointing to it being focused on Han Solo. The only solid info we have is that Amy Hennig and Todd Stashwick have been working on the game for some time now as creative director and co-writer, respectively. Hennig is know for her work in the incredibly popular "Uncharted" video game series. Now it seems Nolan North, who voices Nathan Drake in Uncharted, has spilled some more details on Visceral's project. Nerdist is reporting that while speaking at a panel at MetroCon in Tampa, Florida, North briefly discussed his former colleague's current job with EA, stating:
“If you’re a big fan of Amy Hennig and her style of story, she’s gone to EA and is going to reboot a brand new Star Wars franchise in the style of Uncharted, and I happen to know a lot about it and it’s going to be awesome.”
And when asked if this game is the previously canceled Star Wars: 1313, he replied:
“No, It’s different, but it's along the same lines.”
You can hear the discussion at 20:50 in the video below:
It's interesting that North refers to this game as a "reboot." Although myself and others like to call the new Battlefront game "Battlefront 3", this newest game by DICE is indeed a reboot that series. Could we be seeing a reimagining of such classic games as Shadows Of The Empire or Jedi Knight? Hopefully we will learn more about this game very soon.
Which previous Star Wars game would you like to see rebooted in the style of Uncharted? Let us know in the comments section below, or in Club SWU on Facebook!
