Del Rey made some big announcements this weekend at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim regarding future Star Wars novels.  First up, they announced some details regarding the Star Wars: Battlefront tie-in novel we'd been hearing about.  The novel will be titled Star Wars Battlefront: Twilight Company and will be written by Alexander Freed (Star Wars: The Old Republic) and is slated for a November 2015 release date.

They also finally made the announcement of who will be writing the Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens novelization, it's Alan Dean Foster.  Foster ghost wrote the novelization for the the original film back in 1977 (it was credited to George Lucas).  He also wrote the Episode II tie in novel The Approaching Storm in 2002.  The novelization will be available digitally on December 18th, same day as the film, and will be released in print shortly there after in January (date unknown).

In addition, they also announced that the novels A New Dawn  and Tarkin are being re-released together, along with three short stories (one of which ties in to Star Wars: Aftermath by Chuck Wendig) under the "Rise of the Empire" title.
