Dave Filoni & Ashley Eckstein Discuss Ahsoka's Return In New Video
One of the biggest and most shocking Star Wars moments of the year thus far was the reappearance of our favorite Torgruta Jedi Ahsoka Tano on Star Wars Rebels. Since season five of Star Wars: The Clone Wars ended and Ahsoka walked away from the Jedi Order, and her master Anakin Skywalker, fans had been begging to learn what happened to her, and now we know. Star Wars Rebels re-introduced her as one of the leading members of the Rebel Alliance in the years prior to Episode IV: A New Hope. USA Today has released a video that explores Ahsoka's long journey from snippy Padawan to Rebel leader. In it, executive producer Dave Filoni and the voice of Ahsoka, Ashley Eckstein, discuss at length her past in The Clone Wars and her future on Rebels. The video also features an assortment of brand new clips from season two of Star Wars Rebels.

Rumor: 'The Force Awakens' Stormtrooper Black Series Action Figure Revealed
It seems we have some more breaking Episode VII toy news to share with you before the day is done! The good folks at The Wolfpack Podcast are reporting that images of a Black series First Order Stormtrooper from The Force Awakens have surfaced on an Ebay listing. The seller behind the listing, "viperskingdom", is said to notoriously get figures early. While the authenticity of this figure is completely unconfirmable, it does appear be accurate. You can see the photos above and below:

Star Wars Celebration Anaheim Recap Video
Relive Star Wars Celebration Anaheim through an awesome new video recap! So many awesome events happened and mind blowing reveals took place it was almost too much to handle. Now that the dust has settled we can take a look back at the groundbreaking convention. Our friends at The Big City Send Out were in attendance along with the SWU team and put together an amazing video covering many of the events that took place over all four days of Celebration Anaheim. We had a blast hanging out with them in line for the J.J. Abrams & Kathleen Kennedy panel on Thursday, as well as many other events, including our live show on the Podcast stage. Watch: 'The Clone Wars' Panels From Celebration Anaheim

Today has been a good day for Star Wars: The Clone Wars fans. Not only did we see the release of the 'Bad Batch Arc' Story Reels, but also the release of two the panels from Star Wars Celebration about The Clone Wars. Lucasfilm released both "The Untold Clone Wars" panel featuring Dave Filoni (Supervising Director) and Pablo Hidalgo (Lucasfilm Story Group member) from Thursday, and the Q&A following the "Bad Batch Arc" screening (just make sure you watch the arc first), which featured Filoni with actor Dee Bradley Baker (all the Clones), and writers Brent Friedman and Matt Michnovetz that took place on Friday. Both panels were hosted by David Collins.

These were phenomenal panels to see in person and I'm very happy that Lucasfilm has released them so that everyone can see them. Hopefully Lucasfilm continues to have panels celebrating The Clone Wars at future Star Wars Celebrations!
'The Clone Wars Legacy: Bad Batch Arc' Story Reels Released!

Good new for fans of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars, especially those who weren't able to attend the screening of the unfinished "Bad Batch" arc story reels at Star Wars Celebration earlier this month! The four episodes, 'Bad Batch', 'A distant Echo', 'On the Wings of Keedaks', and 'Unfinished Business', are now available for streaming on StarWars.com. In addition, the Q&A from the screening, featuring Supervising Director Dave Filoni, the voice of the Clones Dee Bradley Baker, and writers Brent Friedman and Matt Michnovetz, is also available.
This story arc introduces us to the "Bad Batch," a squad of unique clones, who join forces with Anakin and Captain Rex on a mission to find the ARC trooper Echo, who was presumed to have died during Season Three's "Citaldel Trilogy." The arc is presented in its unfinished animation form (like the Crystal Crisis on Utapau arc that was released in late 2014), however it does feature a complete vocal performances by the stars of the series including Baker, James Arnold Taylor, Matt Lanter, and TC Carson.

Mark Hamill Extended Interview From Celebration Anaheim
At Star Wars Celebration Anaheim, James Arnold Taylor sat down with Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, at a panel aptly titled "The Return Of The Jedi". Since Celebration ended the good folks at StarWars.com have been working to bring us tons of awesome videos from the convention. One such video features an extended backstage interview with Mark Hamill. In it, Mark discusses his family, his son Nathan, his return as Luke Skywalker in The Force Awakens and dealing with his now infamous beard. Watch it here:

Video: 'The Force Awakens' Cast & Crew Interviews At Celebration Anaheim

Lucasfilm made a huge splash last week at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim during The Force Awakens panel that kicked off the event. A large portion of the cast & crew were on stage to talk about their roles in the upcoming film, and a brand new teaser trailer was premiered soon after. Afterward the panelists went backstage to talk about their experiences.
The folks at Flicks and the City provided us with several fascinating video interviews with producer and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, director J.J. Abrams, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew and Anthony Daniels, as well as the newest faces in the Star Wars universe; Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac. Check them all out below:

Kathleen Kennedy Gives an Update on 'The Force Awakens' Production

Lucasfilm President and The Force Awakens producer Kathleen Kennedy chatted with the BBC during Star Wars Celebration last weekend, where she gave an update on the status of the production. She told the BBC,
"JJ [Abrams, the director] is editing the third act as we speak. We'll
probably take a look at the film early summer. We've been working on
effects as we've been moving along. We'll score the movie a little bit
in June, and then throughout the summer. So it'll be a process as it
comes together. But everything I've seen has been fantastic. I mean it
just gets better and better and better as it all comes together."
She also discussed the casting process, specifically about finding the film's leads Daisy Ridley (Rey) and John Boyega (Finn), saying,
"Daisy Ridley was a product of a massive search that we went on for months and months and months. But when she came into the room I would say almost instantaneously she just lit up and was so obviously the right person that we were looking for. She really claimed the role.
And
John Boyega was somebody we'd known of because of Attack the Block. And
we'd been sort of putting him on the top of our list right from the
beginning. But, then again, we went on a massive search just to see who
was out there, and we kept coming back to realizing that John would be
the perfect Finn."
During the big kick off The Force Awakens preview panel on Thursday at Celebration, Kennedy promised that we would be seeing more strong female roles in the new Star Wars films. She expanded on this to the BBC saying,
"We're putting women in strong roles. We're just changing things up a bit so that the characters inside the Star Wars universe reflect the audience. And that's what I think in general most movies should do, and why not Star Wars."
We've already seen some evidence of this in the casting of Ridley as well as Gwendoline Christie and Lupita Nyong'o in The Force Awakens, and the casting of Oscar nominee Felicity Jones in the first Star Wars Anthology film Rogue One. And, for one, couldn't be happier that Kennedy and Lucasfilm are taking this approach. I think she nailed it in her answer, Star Wars should reflect its audience and the world around it. This way more people will become fans, which just means more people to share our passion with. And that can only be a good thing.
Oscar Isaac Talks Poe Dameron, New Trailer, BB-8, and More

Hasbro Will Have a Star Wars Exclusive at SDCC

Despite not having one for last week's Star Wars Celebration Anaheim, Hasbro is promising there will be one this July at San Diego Comic Con. MakingStarWars.net chatted with Hasbro's Joe Ninivaggi at Celebration and asked about the lack of an exclusive, here's what Ninivaggi had to say,
"Yeah you know…next time we definitely will. We’re going to have an exclusive at San Diego for sure. You know, it’s just the time – what we can and can’t do, what we can and can’t show – we’re really ramping up for the fall. We just opted not to, but I think in the future we will for sure."
As for what the SDCC exlcusive will be, Ninivaggi isn't quite sure yet. He told MSW,
"I don’t know yet. I’m not sure. We’re still working on what our reveal plans will be but stay tuned it will be out soon. San Diego is around the corner!"
Could the SDCC exclusive be our first The Force Awakens figure? I doubt it. It still seems rather early for something like that. And while it was somewhat disappointing not to see a Hasbro exclusive at Celebration, it does make sense. Episode VII is still so far out that Hasbro is probably still in the early stages of working on the figures. As Ninivaggi said, the fall seems to be the time when The Force Awakens merchandise will hit shelves. SDCC may be close enough to that that perhaps Hasbro will make its big reveals there.
Plus, it sounds like we'll be getting a Hasbro exclusive at Celebration Europe in 2016!

Recap Of 'The Untold Clone Wars' Panel At Celebration Anaheim
Last week at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim we learned a huge amount about the Star Wars Saga! But it wasn't all focused on the future of the story with panels devoted to The Force Awakens and Star Wars Rebels, Dave Filoni and several members of his talented crew, who are currently hard at work on Rebels. brought with them to Celebration a collection of clips, concept art, and tons of info from yet unreleased episodes of the now canceled animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The reveals took place during two awesome panels, the first being one held on the first day of the convention, titled "The Untold Clone Wars". Filoni and Pablo Hidalgo appeared on the Digital Stage along with stage host David Collins to discussed several story arcs in detail that would have made up seasons seven and beyond. The Star Wars Underworld team was in attendance and we we're determined to relay what was said and shown and the panel to those of you who could not be in the room. Report: Daisy Ridley & John Boyega Explored Star Wars Celebration In Disguise
Those who have visited Comic Cons and Star Wars Celebrations in the past know how difficult it can be to move about on the convention floor. With thousands of like minded individuals packed into the same room, it can be very hectic at times even for the most casual con-goer. And for Celebrities it is an even greater challenge to enjoy a convention without being swarmed by countless fans wanting photos and autographs. This has led to many well know faces being forced to find creative ways of hiding their presence when they visit events such as this. It seems that none other than two of the stars of the next Star Wars film, The Force Awakens, did just that at last week's Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. Daisy Ridley and John Boyega, alongside Oscar Isaac, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and several other cast members, made a surprise appearance on stage Thursday morning in Anaheim at a special panel kicking off the four day event. Interestingly Boyega and Ridley did not appear anywhere at Celebration following the Thursday Panel, but we have now uncovered some evidence that clearly shows the two stuck around to participate in the festivities in a very sneaky way.
Our first clue comes from Chewbacca himself, Peter Mayhew, who posted a photo of himself with Daisy and John at Celebration on Facebook Thursday afternoon. Curiously, Ridley appears to be wearing a Trandoshan mask while Boyega wears a yellow striped Clone Trooper helmet, suggesting that the two had been doing some minor cosplaying:

A few days later John Boyega posted a video and photo of himself on Instagram in the same Clone Trooper helmet, walking amongst fans on the main convention floor and even participating in a Lightsaber duel with a fan:
For those of us in attendance, it's amazing to think we may have literally bumped into Rey or Finn and had no idea. Kudos to them cleverly making sure they had the opportunity to enjoy the convention as fans themselves. We can't wait to see them at the next Celebration in London next year!

Last week was an amazing one for Star Wars fans as Star Wars Celebration came to Anaheim, California with a seemingly endless amount of reveals from the past, present and future of the Star Wars Saga. One of the anticipated panels of the event featured two fan favorites discussing just that. "Mark Hamill: The Return Of The Jedi" featured James Arnold Taylor interviewing Luke Skywalker himself on the Celebration stage. Their conversation covered everything from set stories from The Empire Strikes Back to Hamill's recent appear on The Flash TV series. But by far the most interesting things said during the panel were about Star Wars Episode VII.
First off, Mark had a lot of great things to say about his new co-stars, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver and others. "People said, 'well, did they ask you for advice?' and I said, 'are you kidding? I should ask them for advice." And when asked if he had seen the new trailer for The Force Awakens prior to it's premiere Thursday morning, Hamill revealed that he had indeed watched it a week earlier when he went to Bad Robot studios to record the now infamous voice over heard in the trailer. Hamill went on to confirm that even though the lines in the trailer were pulled from Return Of The Jedi, he had re-recorded those same lines which J.J. Abrams & crew had combined to create a reverberation of Luke's voice in the trailer.
Later, Taylor questioned Hamill about how he was first approached to return to Star Wars. Hamill proceeded to tell a story about himself, his wife and Carrie Fisher being asked out to lunch by George Lucas while at at a previous Star Wars event. Hamill admittedly laughed at the idea of a new trilogy including himself, He soon learned of Lucas' plans, but didn't give a yes or no, adding he was in a state of shock. "What's really interesting is later I thought: It's not like a choice, it was like I was drafted. Can you imagine if for some reason I said, 'I don't think I want to do it.' I would have all of you[pointing to the audience] surrounding my house like... angry villagers with Lightsabers instead of torches."
And on J.J, Abrams, Hamill joked that he was suspicious of "that Star Trek guy", but had high praise for the filmaker. Hamill noted that The Force Awakens is the first Star Wars film to be in the hands of someone who grew up in Star Wars fandom and adds that Abrams shares the same thoughts and feeling that many Star Wars fan have.
It's always great to hear from Mark, and it's especially refreshing to hear him speak about The Force Awakens more candidly than normal. Thanks to James Arnold Taylor and crew for putting on such a great show at Celebration Anaheim!

Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016 in London Announced!

Star Wars Celebration Anaheim has come to an end, but with the end of this Celebration comes the announcement of the next one. Lucasfilm's Pete Vilmur and ReedPOP's Mary Franklin announced during the closing ceremonies that the next Celebration will take place July 15-17 in London, England at Excel London.
This will be the third Celebration Europe. The first took place in London in 2007, and the second took place in 2013 in Essen, Germany. This Celebration will likely be used to promote Rogue One mostly, but Episode VIII will be less than a year away at that time and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw something from that there.
