Star Wars Theme Park Announcements Coming Next Year

Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed during an earnings conference call that announcements regarding an expanded Star Wars presence at Disney Parks will be made in 2015.  This would expand the Star Wars presence beyond just the current Star Tours II ride.

Star Wars theme park expansion was heavily rumored several months back, however rumors have slowed down in recent months.  A speeder bike ride was teased back at D23 in 2013 and reports have included that a Mos Eisley Cantina restaurant is in the works.  There have also been rumors that the imagineers who are working on the park have been debriefed on the Episode VII plot, so hopefully we can expect some connections to the upcoming sequel trilogy.

Some have speculated that announcements will be made at either Star Wars Celebration Anaheim or D23 Expo, both of which will be taking place in Summer 2015.
