Disney Publishing announced today a new series of mobile apps designed to introduced young children to the Star Wars galaxy. They will be releasing a series of apps, titled Star Wars Journeys, each telling the story of one of the six films through activities and games. The first app, which covers the story of The Phantom Menace, is available now for iOS. Apps covering the other five films will be released, all leading up to the release of Star Wars Episode VII in theaters December 2015.
Some of the features of the app include,
"a 180-degree parallax viewing experience, infinite zoom scene transitions, collectible character profiles, brand new art, and unlockable hidden content. As The Force is strong with these apps, each will also feature a set of unique activities that deepens the story experience."

I have to say, these apps look like a fun way for kids to immerse themselves in the Star Wars galaxy (I'm even looking forward to playing around with the app, myself!) It's also great to see the complete saga being represented (not just the original trilogy). This looks like a great way to build up the excitement with kids for Episode VII.
