Is Star Wars: The Clone Wars poised to defend it's Outstanding Special Class Animated Program Daytime Emmy? The fan favourite animated series, which wrapped up with Season Six "The Lost Missions" earlier this year, received 4 Daytime Emmy nominations, and one win so far! The Clone Wars was nominated for:
Outstanding Special Class Animated Program
Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing – Animation
Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Animation
Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing – Animation
Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Animation
Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation (Won)
The technical Emmy's have already been handed out and The Clone Wars Chris Voy picked up the win in the Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation for his work on The Wrong Jedi. The series won two Daytime Emmys last year with David Tennant picking up the award for Performer in an Animated Program for his role as Huyang, and the series overall won for Outstanding Special Class Animated Program.
It's great to see the sound team getting these Emmy nods. We all know that their work was of cinematic quality, and it's kind of hard to believe they haven't even been nominated before.
The one disappointment is that none of the cast was nominated. Many on the cast are deserving of individual recognition, but none more so (in my opinion) than Dee Bradley Baker. Baker provided the voice for all the clone troopers and was able to make each of them different, yet the same.
Regardless, congratulations to everyone who worked on The Clone Wars series for the nominations, hopefully the Force is once again with you at the awards ceremony!
The Daytime Emmys will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA on Sunday, June 22, 2014.
