The folks at Deadline have dropped a sizable chunk of Star Wars Episode VII news on us! One actor could be in, a returning actor could have a bigger-than-expected role, and the entire cast may be getting together soon.
First off, Deadline reports that that Director J.J Abrams and the cast will be getting together in London for a table read of the script. Considering that principal photography could literally be beginning any day now, and that Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford have all been spotted in London recently, it's not a far fetched claim.
And speaking of Harrison Ford, Deadline says that he will have much bigger role than we imagined:
"The big surprise, I’m told, is that Ford has a gigantic role in the first of the next three films."
And finally, they add that four actors are currently in the running for roles:
"I’m hearing that Inside Llewyn Davis star Oscar Isaac is in line for a major role, as is Adam Driver and Attack the Block’s John Boyega...There is also a young girl, and that might be Maisie Richardson-Sellers..."
Driver, Boyega and Richardson-Sellers are all names we've heard before, but Oscar Isacc is not. Who, or what he could be playing is anyone's guess. Speculation is heightening around the idea of there being possible casting announcements on May the 4th, also know as "International Star Wars day". If this information is true, and if Lucasfilm decides May the 4th is the right time to unleash all the details about Episode VII's cast, it will definetly make for an interesting day this Sunday. But until the official announcements come, take this report with a grain of salt.
