The Plastic Strikes Back - January 2013

Hello there and Happy New Year, welcome to this month's update on The Plastic Strikes Back, KM:SWC's project to recreate ESB with Star Wars collectibles.

The ice-fields of Hoth begin to fill with Rebel Soldiers and I get to use some action figure props that have been in my collection for a while now, namely the Rebel 'dish' gun and the mounted weapons. For the Hoth Troopers in the background I've used the figures from the Star Wars Miniatures board game as they look easily as good as action figures at that distance.

When we left off in December, Leia was briefing the pilots on the evacuation plan, now we get to see it play out as the first transport makes it's attempt to escape the Imperial fleet.

How to do the Ion Cannon was a real challenge, sadly I do not have one in any of my Star Wars collections and I was struggling with how to do the Ion blast effect when I decided to use a missile from one of the Hasbro vehicles, please let me know what you think in comments .

So now the first transport is away and the Battle of Hoth can commence, look out in February for our next update where we'll finally see AT-ATs in action. We leave you with this heart warming moment when young Dack Ralter feels like he could take on the entire Empire, all by himself.

Finally don't forget to check out the project so far in our Facebook album and give us a 'like'!
