Rumor: Zack Snyder Developing a Star Wars Spin-off Film

UPDATE: Unfortunately, that's not the case.  One of Snyder's representatives has denied the rumors telling The Hollywood Reporter that "While he is super flattered because he is a huge fan, Zack is not involved in any way with Star Wars. He is currently in post [production] on his two films, Man of Steel and 300: Battle of Artemisia."

Original Story:
There has never been a better time to be a Star Wars fan.  Not only do we have the highly anticipated sequel trilogy on the way (beginning in 2015 with Episode VII), there is also a galaxy of of possibilities for subsequent films.  Could one of those possibilities be a film loosely based on Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai directed by Zack Snyder?  Vulture is reporting that the 300, Watchmen, and Man of Steel Director is developing just that. The project is expected to be set after the events of Episode VII and would be among the first (if not the first) of the spin-off films, that many have speculated about since the announcement that more Star Wars films were on the way?  Could be the project that Empire Strikes Back writer Lawrence Kasden and X-Men: First Class Producer Simon Kinsberg are reportedly working on?  Only time will tell.  One thing is certain though, there has never been a better time to be a Star Wars fan.
