'Thrawn: Alliances' Hits #1 On The New York Times Best Sellers List

Last week, the latest Star Wars novel written by Timothy Zahn, Thrawn: Alliances, was released with great anticipation.  That anticipation has yielded a very exciting result for Zahn and the teams at Del Rey Books and Lucasfilm publishing.  The book hit #1 on The New York Times Best Sellers list in the Hardcover Fiction category, beating out the Bill Clinton and James Patterson novel The President is Missing and Daniel Silva's The Other Woman.

New 'Thrawn: Alliances' Preview Excerpt Features Padme Amidala

Another prequel era, fan favourite character is set to appear in the upcoming novel Star Wars: Thrawn: Alliances.  A new preview excerpt from the upcoming novel by Tim Zahn features Padme Amidala in a prominent role.  What makes this even more intriguing is that Padme's story will take her to the planet Baatu, where the upcoming theme parks Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will be set.  A poster of Padme on Baatu will be a free give-away with the book if you buy it a Barnes and Noble.  You can see the poster and read part of the excerpt below,

'Thrawn: Alliances' Excerpt and SDCC Exclusive Cover Revealed

The next installment in the saga of Gran Admiral Thrawn hits book stores next month, on July 24th, and publisher Del Rey has released a new preview excerpt from the novel on StarWars.com.  Star Wars Thrawn: Alliances is written by Timothy Zahn and takes place following the events of Zahn's 2016 novel Thrawn and during the events of the animated series Star Wars Rebels.  The new preview excerpt features a flashback to the Clone Wars when Thrawn first meets Anakin Skywalker.  Also revealed is new art features Thrawn and Anakin which be featured as the cover of the San Diego Comic Con exclusive version of the novel.  You can check out the art and read part of the excerpt below,

Batuu, The Planet From "Galaxy's Edge", Will Be Featured In "Thrawn: Alliances"

Lucasfilm has released a new preview excerpt for Timothy Zahn's upcoming novel Star Wars--Thrawn: Alliances and that preview reveals a connection between the book and the upcoming theme parks Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, opening at Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida in 2019.  In the preview, Emperor Palpatine briefs Darth Vader and Grand Admiral Thrawn on their upcoming mission to the planet Batuu, the planet where Galaxy's Edge will be set (the theme park aims to give fans as close to an "in-universe" experience as possible).  You can read part of the excerpt below,

'Thrawn: Alliances' Release Delayed to July 24th

The sequel to Timothy Zahn's novel Star Wars: Thrawn has been delayed by less than a month.  The novel, titled Thrawn: Alliances, is now slated for a July 24th, 2018 release date (it had previously been scheduled to be released on June 26th). The release date change was noted in publisher Penguin Random House's official online catalogue.

Cover For Tim Zahn's 'Thrawn: Alliances' Revealed

Lucasfilm and Del Rey Publishing have revealed the cover for Timothy Zahn's upcoming novel Star Wars: Thrawn--Alliances.  The novel is a follow-up to Star Wars: Thrawn which was released earlier this year.  The new novel will see Grand Admiral Thrawn teaming up with the dark lord of the sith Darth Vader, and the cover reflects this pairing.  Vader and Thrawn are featured standing together on the cover of the novel, which will be released in hardcover next year.  Check it out below,

Timothy Zahn Announces 'Thrawn: Alliances' at NYCC

Lucasfilm publishing and author Timothy Zahn announced a sequel novel to Zahn's novel Star Wars: Thrawn, which was released earlier this year, to an excited crowd at New York Comic Con today.  The sequel is titled Star Wars--Thrawn: Alliances and will hit shelves in the summer of 2018.  Alliances will also feature Darth Vader in a primary role.  No cover art or specific release date were available at this time.
