Sam Jackson Thinks Your Snoke Theory Sucks

By: Benjamin Hart

It's seems you can't swing a Lightsaber these days without hitting a new Snoke theory. Every character imaginable has been connected to the First Order's Supreme Leader, even though he could still be, you know, just Snoke. Regardless, we fans love to speculate, and some of our theories occasionally make big news.

Samuel L. Jackson Thinks 'The Force Awakens' Cast Needs To Go To Lightsaber School

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been met with near universal praise, but it's still impossible for the film to have pleased everyone.  One person who may not have been as thrilled with the film as most is Star Wars prequel star Samuel L. Jackson.  Jackson, who played Mace Windu in Episodes I-III, was asked by ABC's Peter Travers about his thoughts on the new film while he was promoting his role in Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight.  Jackson gave a very diplomatic answer about the film, before adding that he felt the characters in the film needed to go to "lightsaber" school.  Check out the clip below,

It doesn't seem too much of a stretch to think that Luke and Snoke will give Rey and Kylo some lightsaber lessons in or before Episode VIII.

What did you think of the lightsaber duels in The Force Awakens?  Do you agree with Master Windu Jackson?  Let us know in the comments.

Samuel L. Jackson Interviews Gwendoline Christie for Interview Magazine

By: Dominic Jones

A few weeks ago, Interview magazine brought us a fantastic interview Carrie Fisher had conducted with her The Force Awakens cast member Daisy Ridley.  Now "Interview" is back with another amazing inter-generational Star Wars interview.  This time they have prequel trilogy star Samuel L. Jackson (Mace Windu) interviewing The Force Awakens star Gwendoline Christie (Captain Phasma).

Among the many topics they covered, lightsabers (of course) came up,

JACKSON: Now to the meat of the subject: Star Wars. I didn't even know you were in Star Wars. I was trying to get over there on that set, I would have run into you. I was coming over there to see if maybe I could audition to be Jedi or something.
CHRISTIE: But hang on, you've already ruled over some Star Wars films, right?

JACKSON: Yeah, a couple.

CHRISTIE: [laughs] I love that, I love how laissez-faire you are about that. "Oh a couple, a couple of Star Wars movies."

JACKSON: Are you a Jedi?

CHRISTIE: You know I can't answer questions like that—

JACKSON: Why not?

CHRISTIE: What I can tell you—

JACKSON: Do you have a lightsaber? You're either a Jedi or a dark side bad person.

CHRISTIE: Now look, I read that—

JACKSON: You have a lightsaber, which is much lighter than a bronze sword.

CHRISTIE: I cannot confirm or deny that, but what we have seen Captain Phasma with is a blaster.

JACKSON: Okay, alright. I won't ask you about your lightsaber...

CHRISTIE: Look Sam, you know I want to tell you absolutely everything but I just can't.

JACKSON: That's okay, that's okay. Some of us had really dope colored lightsabers, like purple. Like the only the purple lightsaber in the universe.

CHRISTIE: I heard that Ewan McGregor made the noises of the lightsaber while he was doing the fight and they had to get rid of it on the soundtrack, is that true?

JACKSON: It's probably true, yeah, but George never cared how much noise we made, or what was going around us.

They also talked about the Star Wars fandom,

CHRISTIE: Can I ask you a question?
JACKSON: Yes.
CHRISTIE: When you did the Star Wars movies you already had a colossal canon of work, but did you notice a change when you started doing the Star Wars movies? Did you notice a change in fan base and the way people kind of responded to you?
JACKSON: Oh yeah, totally. I'm a Jedi, first of all, and I'm the second highest Jedi in the world next to Yoda. You reach a whole 'nother level of fan craziness and worship. If you are a Jedi, just understand something: people are going to be chasing you. The Jedi Council of every city you enter is going to be chasing you. I've been accosted by the Jedi Council in Rio and everywhere else.
CHRISTIE: Wow. What I can tell you is that I am a member of the dark side.
JACKSON: That's good. There's a lot of light out there too. You live in the only country where you can put Jedi on a job application and nobody blinks an eye.
CHRISTIE: [laughs] Have you done that?
JACKSON: No, I'm just telling you that's a legal religion in the U.K. You can put that on there and nobody will think you're crazy.

The rest of the interview focuses on Christie's role as Brienne of Darth Tarth on the HBO series Game of Thrones as well as fan interactions they've had.

Samuel L. Jackson Talks Star Wars on 'The Daily Show'

Star Wars alum Samuel L. Jackson, aka Mace Windu, appeared on The Daily Show With Jon Stewart to promote his upcoming film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.  When asked about the process of making big budget action movies, Jackson relayed a story from his experience working on the Star Wars prequels, saying,

"When I first started doing Star Wars it was just a big green room and we had some things in there and I had my lightsaber and George would say 'ok, there's this thing attacking you', and I go 'how big is it?'  And he says 'it's as big as an SUV' and I go 'really, how fast is it?'  And he says 'it's as fast as you want it to be.'  So I'm like I can do anything I want and you'll draw stuff around me?  He says kick all the ass you want and we will make sure it looks like you're the baddest Mother F@#$er in the universe....And then I go the movie and I'm like f@#$!  Look at me!"

What I like about Sam Jackson interview is that he never whines about having to work with green screen.  Whenever he talks about his experience on Star Wars it's always a positive one, and you get the sense that he really appreciates the fact that he got to be a part of the galaxy far, far away.

Rumor: J.J Abrams Not Talking To Mark Hamill, Ewan McGregor & Sam Jackson

By: Benjamin Hart

Mark Hamill, Ewan McGregor and Samuel L. Jackson are not only familiar to Star Wars fans for playing Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi & Mace Windu, respectively, but all three have made headlines during this past year of speculation surrounding Star Wars Episode VII. The trio are just a few of the actors that could make a return to the Galaxy far, far away in 2015. Sam Jackson recently appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman where he had some interesting things to say about J.J Abrams:

"I asked Mark if he'd heard from J.J. Abrams and he said, 'No', and then all of a sudden, Ewan was there (in London) and I spoke to him on the phone, asked him if he was there doing Star Wars. He said, 'No, they haven't called me.'.... So I was thinking, maybe all three of us could just get together and go over to the Star Wars set and just stand around and see if maybe they could use some old Jedi! And then I heard on television they were auditioning people for Star Wars and I said, 'Well, maybe we should just go through the auditions and see if we can get a job!'....  "I pretty much hinted to J.J. that I wanted to be in the film at George Lucas' wedding, and he was kinda like, 'Mmm', that was about the most I got out of him."

You can watch a portion of the interview here:

Sam Jackson has publicly lobbied for a role in Episode VII for months now, but we've heard nothing to suggest that he might actually be involved with the film. Ewan McGregor, however, has been been rumored to be returning as the Force ghost of Obi-Wan in Episode VII, and has said he would like to be involved on more than one occasion. Mark Hamill's return would be the most logical and he has been rumored to be involved for some time. There have been several reports that seemingly confirmed Mark would be be back as Luke Skywalker. Mark himself said "They're talking to us" when referring to Lucasfilm. George Lucas let it slip that both Mark, Carrie Fisher & Harrison Ford had signed on for the film. And even a friend of Mark's claimed he was training for the role

So why the conflicting reports? It could simply be Mark Hamill has been sworn to secrecy by Disney/Lucasfilm and was forced to be untruthful with Sam. Or he could be telling the truth, perhaps he's only been talking Kathleen Kennedy and George Lucas as of late. Or, worst case scenario, he is not going to be in Episode VII. No matter what, nothing is official until Lucasfilm or Disney says it is, so take this report with a grain of salt and move along... Move along...

So what do you think of all this? Will Luke, Obi-Wan & Mace appear in Episode VII? Let us know why or why not in the comments below, or on Facebook!
