Lucasfilm Launches Immersive 360 Jakku Experience

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is now just 85 days away and Lucasfilm has launched a brand new immersive experience on Facebook to promote the film.  The experience allows fans to speed across the desert plains of Jakku and get a good look around the wreckage left behind by a battle between The New Republic and the Galactic Empire.  Check it out below,

We got our first look at this area of Jakku back in the second trailer for The Force Awakens back in April, where we saw that downed star destroyer for the first time and the Millennium Falcon flying through a crashed super star destroyer.  Now the question is, how much of what we see in this video will we see in The Force Awakens?  My guess is we'll see most, if not all, of it, we just won't get to take a close look at it the way we do in the video.

The video was created by the ILMxLab, who are pioneering new immersive, virtual reality technologies.

Any way to get highlight stills? Every device and computer I look this up on, I get the message, "This video can't play in this browser." Very annoying!!!
