Beyond the story and mythology of the saga, one of the most fascinating things about Star Wars is the behind the scenes stories, especially the big "what if" scenarios. Return Of The Jedi was nearly "Revenge Of The Jedi", Leonardo DiCaprio almost being cast as Anakin Skywalker, and many others. Now we have another one to add to the history books.

Next year will be a momentous year for Star Wars. Not only do we have Star Wars: Episode VIII and Star Wars Celebration in Orlando to look forward, among countless other things, 2017 will be the 40th anniversary of the saga. May 25th, 2017, to be exact, will mark 40 years since Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope(know then simply as "Star Wars") opened in theaters and changed the world forever. Lucasfilm has already begun preparing for the occasion by revealing the logo for 40th anniversary. Yesterday, during the closing ceremonies of Star Wars Celebration Europe, hosts David Collins, Amy Ratcliffe and Warwick Davis unveiled the logo to the audience. You can see a photo of it below:

By: Benjamin Hart

Lots amazing things have been happening over the past few hours as Star Wars Celebration Europe in London kicked off earlier today. Aside from the massive, attention grabbing Rogue One: A Star Wars Story panel that took place, there were several other great panels that happened today. One of those was "Ahsoka's Untold Tales" panel which was hosted by David Collins and featured Star Wars: The Clone Wars supervising director and Star Wars Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni alongside the Lucasfilm Story Group's Pablo Hidalgo and the voice of Ahsoka herself, Ashley Eckstein.

The panel covered a variety topics related to the beloved Torgruta Jedi and revealed never before seen storylines that were developed for The Clone Wars but were never produced. Filoni especially had a lot to say about Ahsoka's path beyond The Clone Wars and how it led to her epic appearance in Star War Rebels. The Star Wars Underworld team was there to report o everything that was revealed, and you can check out all of their hard work below:

By: Dominic Jones

Star Wars Celebration Europe is now just five months away and announcements are beginning to trickle out about what Lucasfilm has in store for their annual fan convention.  Today, it was announced that David Collins would be returning as Stage Host for Celebration Europe.  Collins has previously hosted the Digital Stage at Celebrations IV (2007), V (2010), VI (2012), Europe (2013) and Anaheim (2015).  Although its not specified yet which stage Collins will be hosting, it doesn't seem like a stretch to assume he'll be back on the Digital Stage.

Outside of Celebration stage hosting, Collins previously worked for 12 years at LucasArts, working on games such as Republic Commando and The Force Unleashed, in which he voiced the character Proxy.  He is also known to fans for his work on the Star Wars Oxygen podcast, where he discusses the music of John Williams.

Star Wars Celebration Europe takes place July 15th-17th at the ExCel center in London, England.  Single Day tickets are available here.

By: Dominic Jones

Today has been a good day for Star Wars: The Clone Wars fans.  Not only did we see the release of the 'Bad Batch Arc' Story Reels, but also the release of two the panels from Star Wars Celebration about The Clone Wars.  Lucasfilm released both "The Untold Clone Wars" panel featuring Dave Filoni (Supervising Director) and Pablo Hidalgo (Lucasfilm Story Group member) from Thursday, and the Q&A following the "Bad Batch Arc" screening (just make sure you watch the arc first), which featured Filoni with actor Dee Bradley Baker (all the Clones), and writers Brent Friedman and Matt Michnovetz that took place on Friday.  Both panels were hosted by David Collins.

The Untold Clone Wars panel,

The 'Bad Batch Arc' Q&A,

These were phenomenal panels to see in person and I'm very happy that Lucasfilm has released them so that everyone can see them.  Hopefully Lucasfilm continues to have panels celebrating The Clone Wars at future Star Wars Celebrations!

Star Wars Celebration Anaheim will bear witness to the debut of the highly anticipated audio dramatic triumph known as Star Wars: Smuggler's Bounty. Best known for directing the successful film about Star Wars fans Fanboys, Kyle Newman will retake his seat in the director’s chair for this audio drama, which will be performed live at Star Wars Celebration.

The premise of the show will revolve around Han Solo during the time period of the Original Trilogy. The audio performance will incorporate hosts from all three of the Celebration stages, namely David Collins (Digital Stage) who will star as Han Solo in the play, James Arnold Taylor (Celebration Stage) who will also be lending his voice to the show, and Jimmy Mac (co-host Behind-The Scenes stage) who will be producing the the play live.  The play was co-written by filmmaker F.J. DeSanto.

The exclusive showcase of this audio phenomenon will be met with thunderous cheers. The predecessor titled Star Wars: Smugglers Gambit was a splendid accomplishment. This new drama will incorporate a group of star-studded voice actors and actresses (which also includes Clone Wars veterans, Sam Witwer and Jamie King), the show will also capture the imagination through the integration of magnificent special effects and sound design. David Collins Launches YouTube Show "The Comlink"

By: Benjamin Hart

A new Star Wars centric YouTube show has hit the web and it's produced by some familiar faces! "The Comlink" is hosted by David Collins, who has a long history with the Star Wars Saga. Most will know him as a sound designer on many Star Wars video games and most notably as the voice of PROXY in The Force Unleashed game series. David is joined by Producer/Director J.C. Reifenberg and Producer Ruark Dreher, whom you might know as the creators behind the 2011 fanfilm Hughes The Force. The first episode, which is nearly 10 minutes long ,was launched today on Kevin Smith's Seesmod YouTube channel and features a rundown of some of the latest Star Wars news and a great interview with James Arnold Taylor. Collins and Taylor discuss the recently released Star Wars: Clone Wars story reel episodes and Obi-Wan's cameo in Star Wars Rebels: Spark Of Rebellion, whom James voices. Also be sure to check out the over half-hour long extended interview with JAT linked at the end of the video.

So without further ado, check out episode one of The Comlink below:

Considering that there really isn't a lot of high quality Star Wars focused programs on YouTube, this show is certainly welcomed. Best of luck to David and his crew this new show!
