We are currently smack dab in the middle of Star Wars: The Clone Wars' series finale episode arc "The Siege Of Mandalore", and one of the biggest highlights of the story so far was the epic climactic Lightsaber duel between Darth Maul and Ahsoka Tano in the episode "The Phantom Apprentice". What many may not realize is that an unprecedented amount work went into making this duel a reality, and Lucasfilm has finally pulled back the curtain on how it all went down.
In a new featurette titled "Inside the Final Duel: Maul vs. Ahsoka", we get out first glimpses at the production of the epic clash. For the incredible choreography and acrobatics of the duel, executive producer Dave Filoni utilized motion capture technology and brought in original Darth Maul actor Ray Park to perform as Maul alongside stunt performer Lauren Mary Kim who portrayed Ahsoka. Their physical movements, combined with the vocal performances of Sam Witwer and Ashley Eckstein as Maul and Tano respectively, created one of the most spectacular Lightsaber duels ever seen in The Clone Wars, and the Star Wars saga as a whole.
