"Mandalorian, look outside. They are waiting for you."
The second official trailer for The Mandalorian, the first ever live action Star Wars series coming to Disney+ next month, has been released. The new trailer gives us new looks at the mysterious titular character (played by Pedro Pascal), as well as the supporting cast made up of Cara Dune (Gina Carano), Greef Carga (Carl Weathers), Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), and an unknown character played by Werner Herzog. There's lots of exciting new footage mixed in with a few moments from the first trailer, as well as some stuff that was only shown to fans at Star Wars Celebration back in April. Check it all out for yourself below,
Lots of intriguing action in this trailer, including what appears to be Super Battle Droids (and CIS droid gunships) from the prequel trilogy. Plus, the Mando taking on Imperial Moff Gideon in his TIE Fighter, and possibly the Mando about to reveal his face. Also, I love that they've used the line from Herzog, asking if "the world is more peaceful since the revolution?", which was first featured in the Celebration footage. It's going to fascinating to see how all the elements from the criminal underworld, the new republic, and the remnants of the Empire all factor into the story.
The Mandalorian is set following the events of Return of the Jedi
and follows the adventures of a "lone gunfighter", as he navigates the
galaxy in the post-Empire/early days of the New Republic. The series
debuts on Disney+ on November 12th. The Mandalorian is executive produced by Jon
Favreau and Dave Filoni, with episodes directed by Filoni, Bryce Dallas
Howard, Deborah Chow, and Rick Famuyiwa, and Taika Waititi.
