To the surprise of almost everyone, one of the biggest and most emotional moments in the new trailer for Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker featured C-3PO. A short clip from the film shows Threepio taking "one last look" at his "friends". Speculation about what might happen to the iconic Protocol Droid in Episode IX has been rampant, but so far we only know one thing is for sure: It's going to bring us to tears.

More recently Anthony Daniels, the man behind the mask of Threepio, and the only actor to appear in all 12 theatrical Star Wars films, took to Instagram to share a new photo of himself on the set of The Rise Of Skywalker. He explains that he originally planned to reveal the image during an event promoting his book, I Am C-3PO. It shows Daniels partially dressed in Threepio's iconic gold plating standing alongside fellow droids BB-8 and D-0 in a grassy field. He also asks fans to guess where the photo was taken. We'll speculate about that in a moment. For now, take a look at the photo below:

The location in question appears to match some scenes we've seen in various trailers showing the characters on a planet with grasslands. Based on the first trailer it appears to be the same planet where the wreckage of the Death Star is located, which was recently confirmed to be an ocean moon named Kef Bir.

And as for the real world filming location? One Instagram commenter guessed that it's in an area called Ivinghoe, located in Buckinghamshire, England. Daniels replied and confirmed that that was correct:

So there you have it. Another glimpse at the Droids of The Rise Of Skywalker! And confirmation of a new filming location! Some really exciting stuff!

We are now less than 50 days away from the release of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker on December 20th!
