Over the long weekend, a deluge of rumors about in live action Star Wars series are in development for Disney+, the upcoming streaming service that will also be the home of The Mandalorian, the Cassian Andor prequel, and The Clone Wars season seven. We Got This Covered got things started by reporting on four shows that they heard were in early development stages. The shows would be based on Lando Calrissian, Qi'Ra, Finn, and Poe Dameron. Not too long after, HN Entertainment added that shows were also being developed for Leia Organa, Captain Phasma, Rose Tico, Darth Bane, and the Knights of Ren.
(UPDATE 19/02/19): Star Wars News Net has added that they have heard that the long rumored Obi-Wan Kenobi movie project is being reworked into a miniseries for Disney+. So add Obi-Wan to the (long) list of characters being considered. Original story continues below.
That's a lot of shows! And based the sheer amount of shows, all rumored in one long weekend, makes me even more skeptical than usual. It seems almost impossible that we'll see all of them (or, at least, that we'll see all of them any time soon). Disney already has three Star Wars shows being made for Disney+, and while they may want to add one or two more, it seems unlikely that nine more are in active development. What's possibily going on is that Lucasfilm and Disney are looking to do another show and they have come up with a list of potential concepts.

To be fair to both We Got This Covered and HN Entertainment, they both
point out in their stories that these rumored shows are in early stages
of development, with no major cast or crew positions filled yet (stars,
showrunner, writers, directors, etc). Again, this suggests to me that
none of these shows has gotten off the ground yet and nobody should get
to excited about any of them just yet. And there's every chance that
none of them will ever make it to production. It's just too early to
tell.
We know Lucasfilm works several years in advance of what we as fans
actually get to see (or even hear about) and a lot can change between
now and when the next live action series is announced. And given that
there are already two live action series in the works, another one may
not be at the top of the Disney/Lucasfilm priority list (but that's just
a guess on my part). All this to say, I would be shocked if Lucasfilm
announced nine(!) new live action Star Wars series in the foreseeable future.
As always, this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.
