Ron Howard Interested In Directing Another Star Wars Film

Despite being another excellent installment in the Star Wars saga, Solo: A Star Wars Story endured more than its fair share of problems, including a major director change during production, as well as a lackluster box office run. But despite all of that, it seems the director who was at the center of it all, Ron Howard, isn't afraid to step back into the director's chair.

In a recent interview with Metro, Howard briefly spoke about the possibility of returning to the Star Wars galaxy. He seemed open to the idea and only had one condition:

"I had a great experience with that. It would depend entirely on the story."

In addition, Howard also touched on his daughter Bryce Dallas Howard who was recently revealed as one of the episodic directors of the upcoming Star Wars live-action television series The Mandalorian:

"My daughter Bryce is thrilled. She’s been announced to be directing one of the new episodes of the series headed by Jon Favreau. She’s having a great experience. So I’m kind of living through it again through her. It’s just a creative, inspired group of movie lovers who make those projects."

Bryce Dallas Howard and Ron Howard.

The fact that a director that was involved in one of the most tumultuous Star Wars productions in recent memory is still willing to work on the franchise again is telling. If the director change wasn't enough, the film's finical shortcomings at the box office surely tested the cast and crew, especially Ron Howard. But throughout it all Howard was a class act, especially on social media(which isn't so classy these days). Personally, I'd love to see Howard do another Star Wars film... but from the beginning this time.

Would you like to see Ron Howard helm another Star Wars film in the future? If so, what kind of film would fit him best? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
