Star Wars actress and daughter of the late Carrie Fisher, Billie Lourd has high praise for the final installment of the sequel trilogy.  The actress, who plays Resistance Lt. Kaydel Connix, spoke with Entertainment Tonight recently and praised the script as well as the experience of being on set once again.  She revealed that she shot scenes for Episode IX for three weeks back in September, and she promised fans that new film will be "magical."

Lourd said,
"I gotta watch myself because the Star Wars PD is going to come get me, but it is incredible. I've read the script and I've been on set. I was on set for, like, three weeks back in September, and it is going to be magical. I can't say much more, but I'm so excited about it and so grateful to be a part of it. Star Wars is my heart. I love it."

Lourd's mother Carrie Fisher passed away in late 2016, a few months after completing filming on The Last Jedi.  However, she will be reprising the role in Episode IX thanks to unused footage shot for The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.  About the decision, director JJ Abrams said, "With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII."

Star Wars Episode IX hit theaters on December 20th, 2019.  The film is directed by JJ Abrams, with a script by Abrams and Chris Terio.  The film stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Kelly Marie Tran, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Keri Russell, Richard E. Grant, Naomi Ackie, Anthony Daniels, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, and Carrie Fisher.
