The teams at Lucasfilm and ILMxLAB are teasing an exciting announcement coming tomorrow! This afternoon, the ILMxLAB twitter account posted a short GIF of Darth Vader coming into focus, with the word "Tomorrow" then appearing on the screen. The tweet had the caption, "Alert all commands". You can check it out for yourself below,

The obvious speculation is that this announcement has something to do with the VR experience that ILMxLAB announced at Star Wars Celebration Europe in 2016 in London, which will be written by David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, Man of Steel). At the time, Goyer teased that this project would focus on Darth Vader, and a short teaser video was shown at the end of the panel, which you can watch in its entirety below,
Other ILMxLAB projects have included the virtual reality experiences Secrets of the Empire and Trials On Tatooine, as well as several other smaller projects. It will be interesting to see what this Vader announcement will be, whether it's another location specific experience like Secrets of the Empire (which can only be experienced at The Void locations in Los Angeles, Anaheim, Orlando, Las Vegas, and London), or something that can be played anywhere? Could this be the first major Star Wars VR home media release? We'll find out tomorrow.
