This week it was reported that the jacket worn by Harrison Ford during the filming of The Empires Strikes Back would be sold at auction for an estimated $1.3 million. Late night host Jimmy Kimmel made some jokes about this in his monologue on his show Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which led to Luke Skywalker actor, Mark Hamill making a walk on appearance to sell some of his old "movie memorabilia" to the studio audience. Check out the clip below,
Hamill is set to return as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Episode IX, which began filming on Wednesday at Pinewood Studios in London. Obviously Luke's scenes weren't shot on the first day, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to make this appearance. It's also worth noting that he is sporting his sequel trilogy Luke Skywalker beard again (or, at least, he's working his way up to it).
Star Wars Episode IX hit theaters on December 20th, 2019. The
film is directed by JJ Abrams, with a script by Abrams and Chris Terio.
The film stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac,
Kelly Marie Tran, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Keri Russell, Richard
E. Grant, Naomi Ackie, Anthony Daniels, Joonas
Suotamo, Billie Lourd, and Carrie Fisher.
