Report: Leaked 'Episode IX' Set Photos Reveal Glimpses At The Millennium Falcon

Production on Star Wars: Episode IX is currently underway, under the direction of J.J. Abrams. As it has been a tradition with previous Star Wars films of this era, we've now begun receiving our first bits of set leaks from the final installment(?) of the Skywalker saga. Our friends over at Making Star Wars have the scoop!

Jason Ward from MSW reports that he has been hearing rumors that Lucasfilm was doing filming for some jungle/forest scenes in Black Park, just outside London, England. Images began to surface showing activity in the park, and security in the area had been increased intensely.

Today, Jason revealed several stills from a wooded area in Black Park showing what appears to be a portion of the Millennium Falcon being built under the cover of the brush. You can check out a few of the photos below:

Even though the Falcon has been featured prominently in three of the four newest Star Wars films it still doesn't make it any less exciting to know we'll be seeing the beloved ship one more time in Episode IX. It will be interesting to see what planet Black Park might end up representing in the film. Will it be a brand new world, or are we returning to a previously seen planet? While many will draw comparisons to Endor, this type of foliage could also pass for Naboo, or even Kashyyyk. Since we haven't revisited any classic locales in the Sequel Trilogy so far, it would be fun to have a throwback to the Prequel or Original Trilogies in this film.

Star Wars Episode IX hit theaters on December 20th, 2019.  The film is directed by J.J. Abrams, with a script by Abrams and Chris Terio.  The film stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Kelly Marie Tran, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Keri Russell, Richard E. Grant, Naomi Ackie, Anthony Daniels, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, and Carrie Fisher.
