A gallery of new pictures from the set of Star Wars Episode IX have been leaked online by the British tabloid The Sun, from a location shoot in the English country side a couple of miles outside London. The pictures give us our first look at some new characters, as well as the new costumes for a couple of returning favourites. Though the context of the scene is unknown, these could be considered spoilers (they show more than just, say, the Millennium Falcon). So, if you are trying to remain spoiler free about the final installment in the sequel trilogy, stop reading now. However, if you're interested in a peak behind the scenes, scroll down below. The new pictures show John Boyega as Finn, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, and Joonas Suatamo as Chewbacca on set. They are joined by several new characters. There are also several alien horses (not Fathiers) featured in the scene. Check out some of the pictures below,
With the story of Star Wars Episode IX under lock and key, it's hard to tell for sure what is going on in these pictures. One possible line of speculation is that we're seeing Finn and Poe on a mission to recruit more worlds to join The Resistance in the fight against The First Order. It's also cool to see the new costumes worn by our heroes. Finn and Poe only had slight costume changes between The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi (understandably so, since the films were only a day apart), so it's fun to see them looking a bit different. Also, I have to say, I love to look of these new alien horses. It will be interesting to see if (or how much) they are enhanced with CGI for the final film.
Star Wars Episode IX hit theaters on December 20th, 2019. The film is directed by JJ Abrams, with a script by Abrams and Chris Terio. The film stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Kelly Marie Tran, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Keri Russell, Richard E. Grant, Naomi Ackie, Anthony Daniels, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, and Carrie Fisher.
