This morning's teaser trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story featured looks at several new characters, including the ones played by Thandie Newton and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.  Newton's character, whose name is Val, is seen briefly in the trailer wearing a winter coat and carrying a large blaster.  You would be forgiven if you didn't notice Waller-Bridge in the trailer because she is playing the droid L3-37 in a motion capture performance, as rumored, (similar to what Alan Tudyk did in Rogue One).

Thandie Newton as Val
Phoebe Waller-Bridge as L3-37
The character names were included in a Lucasfilm press release, which also confirmed that Woody Harrelson's character's name is Beckett (but, thanks to Harrelson, we've known that for a while).

If you haven't seen it yet, or simply want to watch it again, you can check out the teaser trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story below,

Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25th, 2018 and stars Alden Ehrenreich (Hail Caesar!) as Han Solo, Donald Glover (Atlanta) as Lando Calrissian, Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) as Qi'Ra, Woody Harrelson (True Detective) as Beckett, Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Thandie Newton (Westworld), and Paul Bettany (The Avengers).  The film is directed by Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind), with a script by Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back) and his son Jon Kasdan (The First Time).
