Kevin Kiner Releases New 'Star Wars Rebels' Music (Updated!)

Kevin Kiner has been composing music for Star Wars animation for almost ten years now (his first project being The Clone Wars movie in 2008), with his work cover all six seasons of The Clone Wars and all four seasons of Star Wars Rebels.  With Rebels coming to a close in March, Kiner posted twenty seven new tracks from the series to his website.  The tracks are free to listen to for everyone.

However, before you rush over to Kiner's website to hear the new music, you should know that Kiner may have accidentally released a major spoiler in his track titles.  There's a few tracks that appear to be from episodes in the second half of season four (which debuts on February 19).  One track in particular, which is apparently from the 13th episode of the fourth season (the file name begins with "SWR413"), appears to allude to a major, game changing event.  So, if you are trying to avoid all Star Wars Rebels spoilers, you may want to wait until the series is over to check out Kiner's website.

UPDATE: The tracks with the spoilers have been removed.  You can now check out the music without fear of spoilers!

Star Wars Rebels returns on Monday February 19th at 9:00pm on Disney XD with the back-to-back episodes "Jedi Night" and "DUME".  Check out the trailer for the second half of the season below,

For those interested in discussing what the spoiler was and may mean, keep reading below.  If not, stop reading now.  This is you SPOILER ALERT!

The track in question is titled "Kanan's End Credits", which seems to allude to the idea that Kanan will die this season.  There is some precedent for characters getting their own "end credits" music when something momentous happens involving them.  In season five of The Clone Wars, the season finale ended with Ahsoka leaving the Jedi Order and the end credits music was a version of her theme, rather than the usual end credits music.

Fans have been speculating that Kanan would be killed off in an episode, going all the way back to the season one finale when he was captured by the Grand Inquisitor.  Since then, he has evaded close calls with death in both season finales since, being blinded by Maul in season two and narrowly avoiding Bendu's wrath in season three.  It appears, though, now his luck will finally run out and the Ghost crew will have to learn to go on without their Jedi mentor.

This wouldn't be the first time a Star Wars spoiler has been included in a soundtrack listing.  The soundtrack for The Phantom Menace infamously included a track titled "Qui-Gon's Noble End." Of course, there's always a chance that the track title could be referring to something else, however that seems unlikely.  It appears that Lucasfilm's streak of not putting spoilers in their soundtrack listings will come to an end at nineteen years.
