Lucasfilm's official YouTube variety series, The Star Wars Show, returned after their holiday break this week and the new episode featured a look at a deleted scene from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The clips from the cut scene were included in a behind the scenes featurette about the writing of The Last Jedi novelization, which featured director Rian Johnson and author Jason Fry. The deleted scene shows Rey in action, as well as an exchange between Rey and Luke, on Ahch-To. Check it out below,
The shots appear to line up with a description of the deleted third lesson that Luke would have taught Rey in the film, that was released online a few weeks ago. The scene features Luke tricking Rey into thinking the Caretakers are in danger, and Rey becoming very upset with Luke when his ruse was revealed. In addition to being featured in Jason Fry's novelization (which hits shelves on March 6th), the scene will likely be included on the film's blu-ray release. No official release date for the blu-ray has been set, however it is rumored to be coming out on March 27th.
