USA Today has released a new behind the scenes featurette about the making of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The video focuses on director Rian Johnson and his experience making the film. It also features new footage of many characters including Luke, Rey, Finn, Poe, Rose, and more. We also hear from the late Carrie Fisher in the video, praising Johnson's talents as a filmmaker. USA Today also released a new image of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker today in their new winter movie preview. The image was accompanied by a quote from Johnson about what it was like filming Hamill as Luke over thirty years since he last portrayed the character in Return of the Jedi. The director told USA Today, "(Hamill’s) always been handsome and he’s just in this place now where
he’s got so much gravity: You point a camera at his face and you feel
depth and wisdom. He’s seen some stuff." Check out the image below,
Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15th. The
film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and stars Daisy Ridley as
Rey, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, John Boyega as Finn, Adam Driver as
Kylo Ren, Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa, Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico,
Laura Dern as Amilyn Holdo, Benicio Del Toro as DJ, and Lupita Nyong'o
as Maz Kanata.
