Lucasfilm announced today that veteran Star Wars author, Jason Fry will be writing the novelization of the upcoming film Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The announcement was made as part of the Lucasfilm Publishing panel at San Diego Comic Con today by creative director of Lucasfilm publishing Michael Siglain. Fry, whose previous Star Wars credits include the Servants of the Empire series, will adapt the film based on the script by writer/director Rian Johnson. The book is slated to hit shelves on December 15th (same day as the film hits theaters).
Fry took to Tumblr to share his excitement, posting that,
Star Wars novelizations have been a part of my fandom from the very beginning – and now I get to write one. I’ve had a lot of pinch-me moments, but that’s near the top. And I can’t wait to share this book with you.
A little ditty that I hope captures a bit of what this just-announced #StarWars project means to me.... https://t.co/PLgnLRcMF7— Jason Fry (@jasoncfry) July 21, 2017
