The San Diego city council voted this week to honor Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill with a street sign.  The council voted to put up signs on the 5900 block of Castleton Drive, labeling the block as "Mark Hamill Drive" (though the street will still be known officially as Castleton Drive).  Hamill apparently lived part of his youth on Castleton Drive in San Diego.  The item passed the council with a 7-0 vote with two members of the council not in attendance.

Hamill responded excitedly to the news on social media, tweeting, "A Postage Stamp, a Pez Dispenser & now..THIS? I'm so honored!"
KUSI News spoke with San Diego city councilor, Chris Cate, about the decision to name the street after Hamill,
Cate also told Fox 5, "We are hopeful we can continue to work with Mr. Hamill, to install, dedicate, and unveil Mark Hamill Drive at a later date at the corner of Castleton Drive and Mount Abernathy Avenue."
