The man behind the original concept for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story may have another Star Wars film up his sleeve. Rogue One executive producer, ILM chief, VFX pioneer John Knoll spoke with Screen Rant recently and revealed that he's been working on idea for a another Star Wars Story film that he's considering pitching to Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.
Knoll told Screen Rant,
“I do have one more idea that I may or may not pitch. I’ve got it about 3/4 figured out and if I can solve that last portion of it, I’ll see if Kathy’s interested. She may throw me out of her office.”
Knoll famously pitched Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy his idea for what would become Rogue One and Kennedy loved the idea so much she greenlit the project and made it the first of the stand alone films. Knoll served as executive producer on the film and was given story credit. Given the success of Rogue One it seems highly unlikely that Kennedy would throw him out of her office if he pitched another film.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is available as a digital download now, and hits on blu-ray and DVD on April 4th.
