Bob Iger Says the Han Solo Film Will Cover Six Years

It's been a big day for Disney CEO Bob Iger.  Not only has his contract been extended to July 2019, he also gave a talk at the University of Southern California, where he dropped some interesting Star Wars tidbits.  During the talk at USC, Iger revealed that the young Han Solo film currently in production will cover Han's life from ages 18-24 (approximately six years).  He also spoke briefly about Star Wars: The Last Jedi, promising Luke Skywalker fans that the Jedi Master will have lots to say this December.

The Wall Street Journal reporter Ben Fritz was in attendance at the event and has been live tweeting it.  See some of his tweets below,
This is our first confirmation of any sort of time frame for the Han Solo film.  It will be the first film to cover so much time (excluding the fifteen year gap between Rogue One's prologue and the rest of the movie).  It will be interesting to see how that's handled.  Also, what does Iger mean by "getting his name"?  Was he not always called Han Solo?  Or does he simply mean making a name for himself in the galaxy?  We'll find out May 25th, 2018.

As for the Mark Hamill stuff, that's been pretty well known since The Force Awakens ended.  JJ Abrams has even gone on record saying he thinks Hamill will win an Oscar for his performance in The Last Jedi.

Also, could the VR lightsaber duel Iger mentioned have something to do with the VR project ILMxLABs are working on with writer David S. Goyer?
