NBC News has reported Star Wars legend Harrison Ford narrowly avoided a potentially serious incident whilst piloting his private plane.
Ford was allegedly instructed to land at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California but instead of landing on the runway mistakenly aimed for a taxiway.
NBC has said Ford's plane flew over the top of an American Airlines 737 which contained 110 passengers and a six-person crew.
Air traffic control contain recordings of Ford enquiring, "Was that airline meant to be underneath me?". Air traffic controllers responded to Ford and said he had landed on a taxiway rather than a runway.
The Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation because landing on a taxiway is in breach of the administration's safety rules.
In spite of the crash, Ford remains to be respected as a great pilot in aviation circles. He was even inducted as a Living Legend of Aviation.
