The past few weeks have been hard ones for those of in the Star Wars community. Many are continuing to mourn the tragic loss of Carrie Fisher, who passed away at the age of 60 on December 27th.
Among those grieving are her close friends and colleagues, and specifically her Star Wars co-stars. Carrie recently reprised her role as General Leia Organa in The Force Awakens, and had completed filming her scenes for Star Wars: Episode VIII, which is slated for release on December 15th.
Adam Driver, who plays Carrie's onscreen son, Kylo Ren, in the Sequel Trilogy, recently appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Upon being asked about working with Carrie, Driver expressed his sadness about her death and the hole it leaves in the close-knit cast:
“She burns very bright and has such a great, very generous energy... To have her character not [be a] part ― not just who she is, her character in the movie, but her character kind of missing from a very small unit ― is a tragedy.”
