It's a wrap!  Filming on Star Wars Episode VIII, the Rian Johnson directed sequel to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, officially ended yesterday.  The director took to the official Star Wars social media accounts to make the announcement, also sharing a video of the final slate from the final shot.

Johnson said,
"Thanks to the best cast and crew in the galaxy, and thanks to the fans for all the love and support though the whole process. Cannot wait to put it together and share it with you all!"

Production has been winding down for several weeks now.  Various actors have taken to social media to announce that they had wrapped (including John Boyega, Mark Hamill, and Daisy Ridley) and the official wrap party was held a few weeks ago.  Who was there to the bitter end?  Based on this tweet from Johnson, it seems that newcomer Kelly Marie Tran still had scenes to film this past week.
Star Wars Episode VIII hits theatres on December 15th, 2017 and stars Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran, and Benicio Del Toro.
