The Star Wars Original Trilogy is returning to the big screen this August in twenty cities in the U.S!  The Alamo Drafthouse announced today that they would be sponsoring screenings of the films this summer, calling the events "Return of the Trilogy".  Tickets go on sale on May the 4th.

In addition to seeing A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi on the big screen, the "Return of the Trilogy" website promises that,
"each “Return of the Trilogy” screening will be its own one-of-a-kind event! Some will be galactic-sized triple feature marathons, while others will even take place beneath the actual stars! All shows will feature specially curated videos & clips between films, contests (Jedi mind tricks, anyone?), props to bring the power of the Force to life, and loads of other STAR WARS insanity."

The list of dates and cities and dates are,

About the events, Alamo Drafthouse’s VP of Special Events, Henri Mazza told Entertainment Weekly,
"It’s always been a dream to show the original Star Wars trilogy again – somehow, someway.  Seeing the original trilogy on the big screen for the first time is a real life-altering event and just a supreme amount of fun. When the films became available to book for screenings like these, we jumped at the chance to do something big."
