Rumor: Three Live-Action Star Wars Series Planned For Netflix

The Star Wars live-action series has been something of legend for almost a decade now. The ever elusive "Star Wars: Underworld" series was a project George Lucas himself attempted to make a reality in the years following the release of Revenge Of The Sith, but sadly it never came to be. Now, since Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm, rumors and speculation have run rampant that Star Wars would be coming to the small screen, or it's ever popular counterpart Netflix. Today the rumors heated up when Cinelinx revealed a report claiming that three brand new live-action series could be headed to Netflix very soon. Here's what they had to say:

"Disney is looking to continue their partnership with Netflix for their Star Wars shows.  Yes, I said shows.  I've heard there's talk of potentially three different live-action shows for Netflix, in much the same way Marvel has deals in place for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, etc... Because of the extreme success of Daredevil, Netflix is working with Disney on the cheap and more than happy to continue their relationship."

They further sight all of the Emmy nominations Netflix shows have been garnering recently(a total of 34 this year) and the fact that Lucasfilm already has a history with Netflix from the release of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Lost Missions on the streaming service last year. In the past we've heard rumors that ABC may be a platform to host Star Wars content, similarly to Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. While that's still possible, on-demand platforms are becoming more and more popular all the time, which could lead  Netflix to become Disney's first choice for a place to launch their new Star Wars series.

So, what type of Star Wars series would you like to see on Netflix? Let us know in the comments below, or in Club SWU!

Here's some Netflix series I would like to see in live action for Star Wars 1. Obi-Wan Kenobi Series set between Episodes 3 and 4 , 2. A Cad Bane Series , 3. Maybe a Old Republic ( yes I know it's not Canon but still) Series and 4. A Younglings Series. A honorable mention 5. If done right a Yoda series about being in exile on Dagobah

Let's first deal with Episode 7, 8, 9 and the srand-alone films before planning a tv series. Too much saturation of one thing is going to destroy the franchise, and a tv series just isn't right for Star Wars. Disney will do anything to make a fast buck, even if it turns the Star Wars franchise into a joke.

CloneLCaptain38, George Lucas made 3 tv series and the microseries without any involvement from Disney.
Have you watched Droids or Ewoks? The franchise survived those, it can survive getting some actual content.

There's too much interest in the Old Republic to let it sit and just be a PC game. It'll happen.

I've always imagined a Star Wars "Knights" series, focusing on the real tribulations faced by the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars. The Clone Wars cartoon is not in depth enough for me, and has largely dashed my hopes.

A series chronicling Darth Sidious in his youth might be interesting as well. Real visceral introduction of a future megalomaniac stuff. No fluff about his political ambition. Just gimme some Sith psychosis.

They should go in the same directions than popular series nowaday go. Look at Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Vikings and all. They are mature and story-filled series that aren't scared of showing blood and nudity. Star wars lack those things. Show us the underworld, the dark and horrible part of the galaxy that we haven't seen yet. Show us that, yes, Han could have shot first because he ain't such a good guy, show us some deep warfare about real rogues, not only A-teams of good looking heros.

And bring on the twi lek chicks too

I want a Han Solo "the early years" series. The story of how he came to be who he is and how he met chewie.

I'm biased but my 10 year old project was a Star Wars meets Firefly television pilot. Maybe I should dust off the old kickstarts campaign...

I really hope they get some EU stuff into canon like Kyle Katarn, Mara Jade, Ben Skywalker.

A series all about Watto and getting good deals.

the story of Yoda! 800 years of adventures are the inspiration for a great tv show serial!

Gotta love Netflix. The best thing about it is that you can change your region and thereby unblock even more content thanks to these steps https://goo.gl/ErDW0J

Darth Sideous's back story of course? He's arguably the most genius villain ever created so let's see how he rises to power? How does he kill Darth Plagus, who is supposedly so powerful he can keep his loved ones alive?? I think it would be a pretty epic series and not too difficult to make.

These are the characters I'd like to see featured in their own series:

Boba Fett
Darth Maul

Oh and Bobs Fett.

I do believe this is an older rumor. I have heard this a few times over the last year or so. I cannot be sure if that's just the talk here in Hollywood, or Internet speculation, or both. I do know I have heard about the idea of 3 shows and at least 1 being on Netflix.

clearly a good opportunity to show the effects of "endless war" (or at least of 40 years of war) on the galaxy. Would love to see shows focusing on the time period between VI and VII. Maybe one military show, another undeworld show/how do the hutts react to the power vacuum caused by both Jabba's death and the chaos of war, and another (probably only one season) showing how it effects normal folks on the "homefront".

I really don't like NETFLIX and nor using my ATM card and waste it on NETFLIX. I like seeing them on BLU-RAY instead because its easier to buy it at retail movie stores. If TFA goes to NETFLIX than that's it for me to continue watching the whole 9 films. I'm not a NETFLIX guy and I like keeping my movies at my home whenever I like to watch anything STAR WARS on my blu-ray player.

Since only 200,000 clones fought in the clone wars, i want to see the ones that survived the war and the other 1,000,000 clones fight the last remnant of jedi(if any survived) forcing the emperor to create a new army of clones which would be called stormtroopers.
