As promised, Entertainment Weekly has revealed the very first collectibles for The Force Awakens, one of which will be available to buy exclusively at San Diego Comic Con. Three items in particular were revealed, all based on the brand new First Order Stormtrooper design. A Die-cast Hot Wheels car from Mattel, a 9-inch buildable figure from Lego, and a 6-inch Black Series action figure from Hasbro, which was previously revealed in leaked photos, were previewed by EW. The Black Series figure is the only item available for purchase at San Diego Comic Con for $24.99. A limited amount of figures will be available on HasbroToyShop.com after the convention. Unfortunately we won't be able to get our hands on the Lego figure until January 1, 2016. The other items will be on display for attendees to view. You can check out photos of all three products below:
About the toys, EW adds that, "Although John Boyega’s runaway soldier Finn isn’t unmasked in any of these toys, this is his team – at least at the start."
Since no release date was given for the Hot Wheels car, we can assume it will be available for purchase alongside the rest of Episode VII's merchandise on September 4th, a.k.a "Force Friday". Be sure to visit the San Diego Convention center July 9th - 12th to get up close and personal with all these items.
Collectors, start saving your money now... you're gonna need it.
