Under normal circumstances we would be anticipating the next Star Wars Celebration in a little over a month... But 2020 has been anything but normal. With a global pandemic upon us most major events have been postponed or canceled, including this year's Celebration which was slated to be held in Anaheim, California in August. With that convention postponed until 2022 it looks we'll have to wait a long time before we can get together to "celebrate" Star Wars together... or perhaps not!
New York Comic Con is happening right now in the Big Apple and moments ago another fantastic Star Wars panel just concluded. The Journey To The Rise Of Skywalker publishing panel explored all of the Star Wars literature that's being released in the lead up to Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker's theatrical debut on December 20th.
This Fall and Winter is going to be huge for Star Wars! In addition to the release of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker and the video game Jedi: Fallen Order, Disney+ will also be launching, and with it, the first ever live-action Star Wars series. Star Wars: The Mandalorian, written and executive produced by Jon Favreau, is set to launch with Disney+, and we got a sneak peek at it during Star Wars Celebration Chicago. Now it appears we're going to learn even more about the series very soon.
Following today's big news regarding the Sith Trooper from Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, we've now been treated to another exciting announcement from LEGO! The legendary building block king will be bringing a couple of very special things to San Diego Comic Con next week, and you'll be able to take one of them home.
For the past 48 hours the Star Wars news cycle has been dominated by updates for Star Wars Celebration Chicago! Lucasfilm and Reedpop have been dumping a massive amount of information this week, revealing new panels, guests, exclusives, and an overhauled queuing system. In addition to all of that, today they revealed the (mostly) full official schedule for Celebration Chicago.
On this episode Zac and Ben take on breaking down all the exciting trailers and announcements released at San Diego Comic Con 2018! They dive into the good, the bad and the weird Comic Con's offering including trailers for Aquaman, Shazam!, Titans, Arrow, Supergirl and more from DC. The guys also discuss the epic previews for Godzilla: King Of Monsters, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald, Doctor Who: season 11, and more. Also listen for more talk about the upcoming seventh season of The Clone Wars and the exciting trailer that announced it. This is an episode you don't want to miss!
Another day, another exciting Star Wars panel at San Diego Comic Con! Today we actually have two big panels happening, the first being the Hasbro Star Wars panel, in which a plethora of new collectibles were just revealed. Our very own Dominic Jones was in attendance and live-tweeted the panel detailing everything that was announced.
On this momentous episode Chris, Ben and Dominic freak out about the massive breaking news regarding Star Wars: The Clone Wars and its upcoming return with all new episodes! They provide their thoughts and speculation about the announcement(while trying to contain their excitement) and discuss the thrilling trailer that was released along with it. In addition, while reporting in live from San Diego Comic Con, Dominic describes his experience attending The Clone Wars' 10th anniversary panel and the audience's reaction to the big reveal. Furthermore, Chris and Ben discuss the newly revealed bonus features for Solo: A Star Wars Story, as well as a talk about positivity in Star Wars fandom and how it made the #SaveTheCloneWarsCampaign a success. Although most will know Adam Savage as a "Mythbuster" from the incredibly popular television series that ran from 2003 until earlier this year, some might not be aware of his passion for cosplay. Savage has created and worn numerous costumes over the years and has made a tradition of attending San Diego Comic Con every year "incognito" as a plethora of different characters. In doing so, Savage challenges his fellow Comic Con attendees to try and spot him in his masked ensemble.
Now that we're a few weeks removed from San Diego Comic Con Savage and his team have begun to officially unveil the costumes he wore at the convention. This year he cosplayed as two different characters, the first being the bear from The Revenant and the second is Kylo Ren from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
On Savage's YouTube channel, Tested, a video was posted showing of his experience walking the Comic Con show floor while wearing the Kylo Ren costume, which was created by ANOVOS. You can see the video below:
StarWars.com also spoke with Adam Savage about his incognito preperation and experiences in an interview, which you can check out here!
Adam is no stranger to the Star Wars saga, having previously worked for Industrial Light & Magic building miniatures for The Phantom Menace and Attack Of The Clones.
It was previously announced that Hasbro would be once again holding a massive online poll to let the fans decide what the next 6-inch Black Series action figure will be. With Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016 happening in London in just over a week, news and information regarding the convention has been pouring out recently. Of course one of the major things drawing fans to Celebration are all the amazing panels happening through the course of the event, such as the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story panel on Friday and the Future Filmmakers panel on Sunday. Today it was announced that wristbands will be required to attend each individual panel on the Celebration stage. Starting at 8:00pm on the previous day, attendees may queue to get a wristband for the corresponding panel. The wristbands will be handed out at 6:00am the day of the panel. A second wristband can be acquired for another panel after that point while supplies last, but wristbands are limited to two per person each day.
Panels on all other stages, such as the Behind-The-Scenes Stage, Galaxy Stage, Fan/Collectors’ Stage and One Force Stage, will not require wristbands for admittance and will be filled based on a first-come, first-served basis. If you will be participating in the wristbanding process be sure to check out the full details on that and much more here!
It should be noted that this wristband process has been utilized previously at New York Comic Con and worked efficiently. Hopefully it was will be just as effective at Star Wars Celebration.
Star Wars Celebration Europe kicks off at the Excel Exhibition center next Friday, July 15th and runs through Sunday, July 17th.

San Diego Comic Con runs from July 21st through the 24th at the San Diego Convention Center!
With Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016 right around the corner we're finally getting our first look at some of the exclusive collectibles that will be available at the convention. Our friends at Jedi News received word from Mattel that a brand new prototype armor Boba Fett Hot Wheels car will be among the items for sale exclusively at this Celebration.
The design is based on an early concept for Boba Fett(seen in this video) that had the infamous bounty hunter appear in an all-white version of his iconic armor. The toy itself includes twin turbo engines that mimic Boba's jet pack, a range finder and several weapons extending from the hood. Senior Hot Wheels designer Bryan Benedict spoke briefly about translating Fett into car form:
“I am a huge fan of Star Wars, so to get the opportunity to recreate classic characters as part of my job is a huge honour. I am excited to be amongst the fans and to unveil our exclusive Boba Fett car that I designed as a rat rod, because to me Boba Fett is basically a walking rat rod - with his banged up helmet and cool attitude. But this is a rat rod with super-advanced technology, and, in the case of our Celebration exclusive, he’s been given a pristine white paint scheme to match the prototype armour.”
The cars will be available at booth #S502 on the Celebration floor, and Bryan Benedict will be there Saturday morning for a car signing. In addition, those who attended the Hot Wheels panel on the Behind-The-Scenes stage on Saturday(4:30 PM - 5:30 PM) will get a first look at the upcoming line of Star Wars Hot Wheels cars and will be able to give their two cents on what the next Celebration exclusive will be.
