1. Max Von Sydow is Boba Fett. Let's get past the very idea of this
fantastic bounty hunter being killed by a blind guy with a paddle.
Assuming he crawls his way out of the Sarlaac Pit, he still has to get
out of the desert, survive the elements, and get off Tatooine. Given
that the actor who plays Jango Fett is of Maori descent, seeing Max Von Sydow (born in Sweden) playing him would certainly shock a lot of people.
2. Princess Leia dies. Hopefully, the "big three" won't have that much
of an impact on the movie itself, leaving more room for the new crop of
actors to shine. That being said, I think a lot of us are expecting one
of them to become one with the Force in December. Qui-Gon died in the
first episode of the prequel trilogy, Obi-Wan died in the first episode
of the original trilogy, so it makes sense that Luke would turn into a
Force ghost in this one. A lot of people believe Han Solo will be the
one to go, given how Harrison Ford wanted his character to die in
"Return of the Jedi". So if Leia is gone, that will certainly turn a few
heads.
3. Aliens...any aliens. Notice what has been missing in the first two trailers? You've seen both trailers 1138 times, right? Surely you noticed how there are zero aliens (other than Chewbacca) in them. So where are they? JJ Abrams showed one of them off in a fundraising video he made for Omaze, but we haven't seen any since. Given the history Star Wars has for giving us incredible, out-of-this-world, aliens, they have been completely missing thus far. If JJ is saving them for the movie, they should be something special to see.
4. Force ghosts are everywhere. There's no shortage of "former" Jedi that could possibly make an appearance. Yoda, Mace Windu, Kenobi, even Anakin are all possibilities to pop back on to the big screen. If Hayden can appear at the end of Return of the Jedi then surely seeing Ewan as a younger Kenobi can be explained away. But having them on screen to spew exposition at us would almost be cliché at this point. Seeing any one of them would be a "been there, done that" moment.
5. The cloaked figure is from the distant past. In the second trailer, we've seen an army of new stormtroopers standing before a red banner with a black symbol. Someone was up on a platform overlooking the scene. Is it Captain Phasma? Is it Kylo Ren? Is it Luke Skywalker? The biggest shock might be if Lucasfilm summons a villain from the depths of the expanded universe. Darth Revan? Darth Bane? This could be greatest curve ball that JJ and KK might throw us.

2) This would be very surprising indeed. I think given that they're actively trying to incorporate more women into Star Wars, they're probably not going to kill off the OG female from the saga...
3) Yeah dude, did you write this before the Vanity Fair spread or are you just not paying attention? One of the a-list actors is playing an alien, so, yeah, if they cut her and her whole horde of pirates out of the movie then that would be a huge surprise lol
4) I would definitely be surprised to see Force ghosts _everywhere_, but I wouldn't be super surprised to see at least one...although, the title is "the Force Awakens," maybe the awakening brings back a whole slew of Force ghosts and makes you look like a prophet.
5) If it's _anyone_ pulled from Legends I will be EXTREMELY surprised...like wet myself right in the theatre surprised, no joke...
I've been looking at the new First Order symbol and if u ask me they've taken allot of influence from the old World War 2 Japanese flag if u really look at it.
I honestly can't wait to see the aliens in The Force Awakens and hopefully they take some more of the old Ralph Macquarry drawings from the original trilogy and incorporate some more of his designs in the aliens in the new movie.
Being Disney and with the new Kingdom Hearts game coming out as well as Infinity 3.0 I wouldn't be surprised at all if they had like a little Disney cartoon before the movie showing some of the new gameplay of both new games.
And lastly I'd love to see an old "legends" character brought back into it Darth Revan would be great
but by the sounds of it the character that Serkiss is playing is both exempt from Sith and the order of two so to me it sounds like he'd more than likely play as an alien character than human.
I think Luke is the hooded figure. I think he's leading the First Order as either a double agent like in Dark Empire or he went mad after the alleged destruction of his Jedi Academy. From the concept art with the robot hand and Vader's helmet there was a masked figure, I think they didn't show us Luke's face in the trailer because he's the one wearing the mask.
Also, I think Rey is the new Jedi in this trilogy, not Finn. Why would the lightsaber fall to her and not Finn if Finn were the new Jedi?
2) Smoke is either an alias or a convenient cover for a returning Palpatine whose powers are far from recovered from his resurrection revealed to be due to With Alchemy and drawing upon all the people he sacrificed to boost his natural force potential ala Vitiate from KOTOR!
3) Jar Jar is referred to in the past tense as a hero of Naboo.
4) Wedge or Biggs is related to Poe
5) Finn is related to both Zare of the Rebels series and Lando because it gives him a reason to be in episode 8
6) What if MVS is actually a stalwart of the clone wars series?
Supposed to have been killed on the Death Star but survived.
