When watching other things besides Star Wars, it's always a treat to see references to our favorite Galaxy far, far away in other media. Now it seems that one film in particular, which hasn't even been released yet, will feature a cool Star Wars Easter Egg. X-Men: Apocalypse, which is slated to be released on May 27th, 2016, began filming today. Simon Kinberg, who is one of the screenwriters for the film, tweeted a photo from the set of the film confirmed the news with something extra. The caption reads; "Day 1 of the Apocalypse.... Back to the 80s." The photo shows a theater Marquee announcing "Now playing: Return Of The Jedi". You can check it out below:

The previous X-Men film Days Of Future Past was set in the 1970's. This photo confirms that the film will be set at least on or after May 25th, 1983, when Jedi was released. We can assume that this reference happened thanks Kinberg himself who is heavily involved with the Star Wars Saga as co-executive producer on Star Wars Rebels and a creative consultant on Episode VII: The Force Awakens. In addition, Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron in The Force Awakens will also be portraying the titular character in Apocalypse. This will definitely be something to look for when it hits theaters next year!
