By Ciaran Duggan,
The inaugural season of Star Wars: Rebels may have wrapped up, but already cast announcements for the future season are being released thick and fast.
Making Star Wars News has reported that voice actor, Sam Witwer (voice of Darth Maul and the Son in Star Wars: The Clone Wars) will be playing one of the chief Star Wars Legacy characters in the Season Two Premiere. Their sources have disclosed he will be playing Emperor Palpatine in Season Two of Rebels.
Of course, this news must be taken with a pinch of salt, but if Sam Witwer was to return and play Palpatine, this would certainly be an apt choice. Sam Witwer has had a talent for voicing malign characters in the Star Wars Universe (including Palpatine in the Force Unleashed Games), so this decision will certainly go down well with the fans. Tim Curry and the recently deceased Ian Abercrombie all voiced his character superbly and I believe that Sam Witwer will follow in their footsteps fantastically.
Season Two of Star Wars: Rebels cannot come soon enough!
