Since Marvel re-launched Star Wars comics recently there seems to have been a comic book craze sweeping Star Wars fandom. So much so that even the maker himself is getting in on it! On Monday Midtown Comics in New York City reported on their social media that George Lucas had stopped by their shop in Times Square to pick up a few of the new Star Wars comics.
Page Six had more details about his visit:
"“He came in and was browsing the store, looking at the ‘Star Wars’ stuff,” a shop employee tells us of his visit on Monday. “He was only in for about 15 minutes, his driver was waiting outside. Fans were pretty excited to see him and he signed a comic book. He was saying he hadn’t read any of the new ‘Star Wars’ comics.”"
We presume from Page Six's description that Lucas picked up a copy of each of the currently series; Star Wars, Star Wars: Darth Vader and Star Wars: Princess Leia.
It's good to see George getting in on the fun and being a "fan" for once. After over 35 years of creating and expanding the Saga, he certainly deserves some time to finally sit back and enjoy it.
