Details and rumors about the highly anticipated trailer for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens have been coming in fast this week. And today we might just have our first look at the trailer itself. Our friends at Making Star Wars were alerted to a cool GIF that was posted to Reddit featuring an infamous Starship. The roughly two second long clip is believed to be from The Force Awakens teaser. You can see it below, along with some analysis and SPOILERS:

Now there are a few things here that both enhance an degrade the authenticity of this footage: The good? Firstly, it matches a trailer description we heard a few days ago that mentioned that the last scene in the teaser would show the Falcon flying directly at the camera, guns-a-blazing. Secondly, the Falcon's sensor dish is rectangular in this footage, which matches the dish seen in set photos(below).
And the bad? Well, the quality simply isn't up to par. The Falcon itself does not look very realistic, and the blue lens flare seems unneeded and something a fan would add in as a poke at Director J.J. Abrams' alleged obsession with lens flare. Either this is a still unfinished piece of the trailer, or it's a very well done fan made animation. Nevertheless, it's pretty darn cool.
And all this leaves us eager to see the full trailer in all it's glory, which many are speculating could happen very soon. The Force Awakens is set to hit theaters on December 18th, 2015. In the meantime, let us know if you think this is real of not in the comments below, or in Club SWU.
UPDATE: A source close to the production has now told us that this footage is not authentic
