If you were disappointed (like I was) that the decision was made post-pone indefinitely the 3D re-releases of the rest of the saga and you live in the San Rafael area (which I don't), then you're in luck!  The Christopher B. Smith Film Center is hosting a special series screenings of films worked legendary visual effects artist Dennis Muren, who worked on five of the Star Wars films.  As part of the series, there will be a rare screening of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clone in 3D, which Muren oversaw the conversion of.  The 3D conversion work on Episode II was done prior to the postponement and it has only been screened publicly one other time (Celebration Europe in 2013).  Muren will also introduce the film and take part in a Q&A afterwards.

Muren describes the Episode II 3D experience as being, "A different 3D experience from other films, very stylized, with the intent of telling the Star Wars story with heightened clarity and emotion…Impressionistic depth as opposed to scientific depth, with actors’ faces sculpted for drama and with sets so lifelike you feel you could walk into them."

This is a great opportunity for fans to see something special, that there is no guaranty will every be made widely available.  Click here for more details.
