The Clone Wars Strikes Back | Episode 18

Dominic and Ciaran return after their extended summer break to discuss the stand alone episode 'Sphere of Influence' and the trilogy of 'Evil Plans', 'Hostage Crisis', and 'Hunt for Ziro'.  What was it like to see action hero George Lucas?  Did Chuchi fail the Republic?  How does 'Hostage Crisis' compare to the rest of the trilogy?  What did they think of Quinlan Vos?  Plus, Anakin and Padme, cake shopping, Palpatine, Cad Bane, the Hutt Council, and the Ziro/Sy Snoodles relationship.  All this and much more!

'm re-watching Clone Wars in chronological order for the first time.

One thing that struck me was how manipulative and possessive Anakin was being with Padme (in Hostage Crisis), saying things like "if you love me, you will come away with me". He really proves in that episode that he doesn't really 'love' Padme, he wants to control and possess her, devaluing her work on the Senate and wanting her only priority to be him. Can we start to call Anakin out that his behaviour has got nothing to do with love but with control? He want to control and manipulate those around him to do as he wants - as he sees as right.
