Our friends over at Jedi News have a new report from their inside source Jedi Master SQL. This report confirms that sets visits for select vendors and media members are already taking place, and costume fittings for the cast are taking place as well.
When it comes to the sets, according to Jedi Master SQL,
"Over the past few weeks we have heard that a select number of executives from the leading Star Wars vendors have been invited to, and attended meetings at Pinewood Studios. They have had presentations on SOME elements of Episode VII, together with tours of a LIMITED number of Episode VII sets. Vendor meetings began on Friday 28th February, and continued into early March. The majority of the vendors invited are long standing trusted Lucasfilm vendors, or divisions within the Disney family. "
The fact that vendors have been at Pinewood studios, has been confirmed by Steve Evans, Design Director for Star Wars at Hasbro who tweeted about his trip to Pinewood (though the tweets have been deleted, TheForce.net still has transcripts of them). Evan said, "What a day on the #starwars set. Met JJ Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy & the legend Lawrence Kasdan"
As for the cast, Jedi Master SQL said,
"Finally, also on set over the past few weeks has been a number of actors and actresses whom we assume are cast, and or at least in late stages of negotiation. Costume fittings and training are starting…"
This also lines up with Evans deleted tweets (it's no wonder he deleted them and his account!) when he said, "I met someone in the bathroom while on the EPVII set. Casting rumors abound..." Who could it be? We now know that the film will feature a new trio and some "very familiar faces" so your guess is as a good as mine!
Jedi Master SQL also reported on the fact that select member of the media were invited to the set as well (sadly we were not invited!), to demonstrate "a keenness to work with the media pro-actively to publicise the movie, and thus counter the desire for unwanted leaks – rather than the total secrecy enacted on other movies (Abrams) has worked on." This was also confirmed by Empire Magazine editor Nick de Semlyen who tweeted about his plans for his trip,
Heading to Pinewood for a set visit tomorrow. Going to report every single person I see on the lot as a possible Star Wars casting rumour.

All of this seems to confirmed that there is indeed lots of progress being made on the film and that they seem to be on schedule.
While a lot of this seems to be confirmed, other elements are still just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.
