Rumor: Digital Release of All Six Films Coming in November

Our friends over at Jedi News are reporting that Lucasfilm/Disney will be releasing the six films digitally this coming November.   According to their unnamed source, there will also be "rare and previously unseen / long forgotten archival footage will form part of the release after much research was performed in the Lucasfilm archives."

Now word on how the films will be released, however given that The Clone Wars series is coming to Netflix this Friday(!), Netflix might be a good guess.  The only downside to Netflix is that you won't be able to "own" digital copies of the films.  Disney also has had a relationship with Apple, so perhaps iTunes or even Apple TV could be realistic possibility as well.

The most exciting part however is that more rare archival footage will be released!  It seems with every release of the films something new has been found in the Lucasfilm archives.   Hopefully that, if nothing else, is true (though we want all of it to be true!)

As always this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.
