This morning, Comicpalooza Con, a convention held in Houston, Texas that features comics, sci-fi, anime, gaming, horror, and fantasy tweeted about an intriguing cancellation:
We regret to announce that Peter Mayhew is canceling his appearance at Comicpalooza this year due to filming.

This year, Comicpalooza Con is being held Memorial Day weekend, May 23rd through the 26th. As fans know, Star Wars Episode VII is scheduled to begin filming May 2014, and due to the fact that Mayhew is recognized for his role as the mighty Chewbacca, he could be reprising his role and a late addition to the VII cast. Although he has repeatedly denied even knowing anything about Episode VII--at Megacon he asked an inquiring fan "Have you read about it on the internet? No, I don't know anything about it," he could have been bluffing. Or, if the filming of Episode VII is kept as under-wraps as Mayhew implied, he could have been informed of his involvement with the film just as recently as the internet heard the news.
In other news, there was not any Star Wars information released at CinemaCon in Las Vegas last week:
As May approaches, all fans can do is wait, speculate, and scour the internet for any details that could link their favorite characters and actors to the film.
