Miltos Yerolemou Discusses Time Spent on The Force Awakens Set

By: Lillian Skye

Game of Thrones actor Miltos Yerolemou will appear in The Force Awakens, following in the footsteps of co-star Gwendolyn Christie. Yerolemou was confirmed for the film last year, but recently discussed his experience working on the film.

“It’s not really a job where you ask any questions,” he explained, but said that the film will “lives up to its expectations."

Miltos explained that he shot sequences at Pinewood Studios and considered his time working on the film a "virtual reality adventure ride." "I’d be sitting on set next to aliens, animatronics; only a little bit of blue screen was used.”

He said that there was even a "tiny little thing strutting past [his] feet," but he could not talk about his role in the film. Miltos plays Syrio Forel, a master sword-fighter, in the Game of Thrones series. Star Wars fans may have to wait till December 18, 2015 to see if director J.J. Abrams utilized this skill in The Force Awakens.

SPOILERS: Fulcrum's Identity Revealed

By: Lillian Skye

This article contains major spoilers from the season finale of Star Wars Rebels.

Fans have been speculating for weeks over the identity of Fulcrum, a mysterious hooded figure that has been aiding the crew of the Ghost throughout the first season of Star Wars Rebels. Fulcrum provided intel to Hera, the pilot of the Ghost, and gave the rebels information that let them target pockets of Imperial forces across the galaxy.

From analyzing symbols that appeared in the TV show to changing the pitch of the character's voice, fans did not want to wait this long to find out the identify of Hera's contact. Just when they thought they'd figured it out, someone would make another claim as to who the character was. Despite the fact that a French actresses' resume was updated with the identity of Fulcrum, people still doubted it's validity and argued over the true person behind this character.

In the last few minutes of the episode, Hera's informant was revealed to be fan favorite Ahsoka Tano, who was last seen when she left the Jedi Order in Season 5 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. That episode aired exactly two years ago to the date of Fire Across the Galaxy on March 2nd, 2013.

At the end of Clone Wars, Tano was about 17 years old. Now, she's in her early 30s and ready to take down the Empire.

In Rebels Recon, Dave Filoni explained how Ahsoka's new look is "psudo-samuri" and how he wanted her to look like could be wearing armor found in an ancient Jedi temple. Her new lightsabers are "basically white" to reflect her non affiliation.

USA Today spoke with Filoni and Ashley Eckstein, who has returned to voice the character. "I look up to Ahsoka," Ashley said.  "She has such a great moral compass and I look forward to seeing where life takes her because I don't think it's ever going to be a boring story."

Filoni explained  that Ahsoka will have a big role in the upcoming season,  but won't be the center of attention. "It's not like she's going to have a bunk on the Ghost anytime soon," Filoni said. "She needs to remain kind of a mysterious figure who is woven in and out of the story."

The appearance of Ahsoka Tano brings everything full circle. Fans who grew up with the Clone Wars are pleased to find out what happened to "Snips," and young fans who experienced Star Wars for the first time through Star Wars Rebels will have the opportunity to go back and experience all six seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and discover a world before the Empire.

With Tano on board, the spark of the Rebellion is now a burning flame. Vader and Imperials every where, beware.

If you want to re-watch the breathtaking moment when Ahsoka was revealed, or watch it for the first time, USA Today has released the scene on their website, which you can watch below:

Boyega Thanks Fans, Responds to Critics through Instagram

By: Lillian Skye

John Boyega responded to fans' comments through a picture that he posted via Instagram on Saturday afternoon.

Star Wars fans had a glimpse into the 22-year-old actor's character in the opening shot of the first The Force Awakens teaser that was released on Friday. His character was seen on a desert-like planet wearing Stormtooper armor, prompting both positive and negative comments from Star Wars fans.

While the majority of the comments were positive, the few that were negative were inappropriate enough to bring attention to them. The positive comments revolved around the diverse cast of the latest Star Wars film and fans' excitement to find out that Boyega's character may be playing a Stormtrooper.  Negative comments focused on Boyega's race, as people were unjustifiably upset that a black man was seen in Stormtrooper armor.

See Boyega's response below:

Countless Star Wars fans have rallied behind John Boyega and are eager to see the direction that The Force Awakens takes his character when the film is released in December 2015.

Has Footage from Episode VII Leaked?

By: Lillian Skye

Today, footage from what a YouTube user claimed to be scenes from J.J. Abram's upcoming Star Wars Episode VII were uploaded on YouTube and then quickly deleted. The account that uploaded the film was deleted as well.

Warning: SPOILERS follow!

The footage claims to be "Luke's Refuge," insinuating that Luke Skywalker spent time in solitude meditating in caves. The stills show a robed figure surrounded by candles and kneeling on the ground in contemplation.  What appears to be the same robed figure looks out across the water in the other images.

See stills from the footage below:

From the blaring "E7," label in the bottom left corner of the images, it is difficult to believe that this footage is real. The film was also labeled with the alleged location of "Luke's Refuge"--Skellig Michael, Ireland--which seems forced.

Is it fake? Is it test footage for VIIStar Wars fans can only guess as the release of Episode VII in  December 2015 draws closer.

Roger Moore Confirms 'Ice Planet' in Episode VII

By: Lillian Skye

Actor Roger Moore, known for his role as James Bond, recently visited the set of Episode VII to meet with J.J. Abrams. Moore recently made an appearance on a BBC broadcast, and claims that while he was visiting the Star Wars set that the team was filming a "something with a lot of mountains and snow."  Moore's statement supports a rumor discussed earlier this year about the crew filming scenes with Chewbacca and Stormtroopers in Iceland.

When the BBC asked Moore for additional information, he admitted that he was "assigned to secrecy," and couldn't share anything else. Is Episode VII revisiting Hoth or venturing to new icy planets?

'Star Wars Rebels' Seven Minute Preview Review and Clip

By: Lillian Skye

Warning: Spoilers below

Within the first few seconds of the s clip, there's little doubt that Rebels is McQuarrie-breathed (The top is McQuarrie's art work, bottom is the opening shot in Rebels.)

It's evident that Ezra does't seem to fit in on Lothel. The dark colors and the industrialized, rustic look of the city contrast with his bright eyes and his light clothing. Right away, the viewer can tell that he's different, but Ezra has yet to realize that.

The preview begins with Ezra, a fourteen year old orphan, standing on a tower over looking a city riddled by the Empire. Ezra gives the Imperials stationed on Lothel, a planet with a name that relies heavily on the pronunciation of the word "loath," more than they bargained for when they enlisted in the Empire.

Ezra is Rebels' Aladdin. He's driven, and he knows the true enemy. However, he's not going to pass up an opportunity to take a jab at the Empire and profit from each encounter. While he interrupts a merchant being questioned by Imperials about registering his wares, Ezra makes sure he benefits from it. Swiping an item off of an Imperial and snatching up a few purple fruits from the merchant with a snarky, "Hey, a kid's gotta eat," Ezra knows where his loyalties lie: himself.

Escaping onto the roof of a building (à la Aladdin), the theif's sensitivity to the Force becomes apparent when he senses another Force user's presence--Kanan--before dismissing the feeling to listen in on Imperial chatter and size up a speeder that had been left unattended by man in green armor.

Stealing the speeder not only provoked Kanan, but also Zeb and Sabine, who were working alongside their "boss" to steal and contain several large crates, which were instructed by an Imperial to be protected at all costs.

During the scene where Imperials chasing Kanan chasing Ezra dodge traffic and incoming fire, the background for the chase--a grassy Lothel plain--was also inspired by one of Mcquarrie's paintings.

After loosing Kanan, Ezra finds himself face to face with a tie fighter…and that's when the seven minutes are up, and fans have to wait for the Rebels premiere later this fall to find out what happens next. Check out the seven minute preview for yourself, and prepare to join the Rebellion on Disney XD this fall:

Dave Filoni Interested in Directing A Stand-Alone Film

By: Lillian Skye

Although Dave Filoni has been busy working on animated Star Wars television series, the Star Wars Rebels executive producer has not ruled out the possibility of directing a live-action flick.

Slashfilm spoke with Filoni to discuss whether or not he would be interested in directing a spin-off film in the future  "If I were to get an opportunity like that A, I wouldn’t turn it down. B, I would see it as a great honor to do it," says Filoni. "And I would apply all my Jedi knowledge to doing it as best I can."

"I've got definitely more than a few ideas." He adds that he has several Star Wars stories that he would like to see finished and brought to life. For the time being, Filoni is satisfied to watch and see what J.J. Abrams, Godzilla's Gareth Edwards and Looper's Rian Johnson produce. "It’s kind of nice to have other really big head creatives working on Star Wars now."

Dave Filoni has had years of experience working with George Lucas and the creative team at Lucasfilm, and expressed that he can empathize with the directors and writers of the spin-off film scripts because he understands the pressure to produce material that will live up to the Star Wars legacy. "I’ll see them come up on continuity problems and I’m just like “Ha, ha, ha, yeah, I’ve been there. It’s great, isn’t it?” But the main thing I tell them is what a wonderful experience it’s truly gonna be."

Since Filoni is a Star Wars fan himself, he understands how attached the Star Wars community can be to certain characters, stories, and concepts. "Yes, they’re particular, yes, they know their stuff, but they love it and they’ve always embraced what we’ve done, but they challenge us and they should. They should challenge us to do new things and exciting things and, you know, that’s when our job is done its best."

Simon Pegg Skirts Around Comments Alluding to Role in Star Wars

By: Lillian Skye

The flame behind the ongoing rumor that Simon Pegg will have a role in J.J. Abrams' Episode VII continues to be fueled by offhand comments, skillfully crafted answers, and well timed pauses.

This past week, Benedict Cumberbatch may have confirmed Pegg's involvement in Episode VII:

“I think J.J. is very good at creating something original out of something known," Cumberbatch told MTV News when he was asked about a possible involvement with the Star Wars franchise, "and I think apart from his continuing use of Simon Pegg — and who can blame him, frankly — it made sense not to do it.”

Whether or not Cumberbatch was simply pointing out the fact that Pegg has been involved with many of Abrams' recent projects such as Star Trek and Mission: Impossible, the rumors continue to flourish that the Spaced actor will be in Episode VII.

"J.J. uses me in different roles, and we’re good friends," said Pegg in response to Cumberbatch's comments. "I feel like my face in Star Wars would pop people out of the movie. Look, I love Star Wars, and I don’t want people to watch and go, Oh, there’s Simon Pegg’s face. The film is cleverly cast with these amazing, unknown actors.

When asked if he wasn't going to be in the movie, Pegg brought up his visit to the Episode VII set. "It’s amazing, and I love Star Wars. I want to see everything happening. It looks wonderful, and you need to believe those characters. Any type of stunt casting might just pop you out of the movie."

Last month, Episode VII actor Andy Serkis confirmed that his Imaginarium will be used for Star Wars. If Simon Pegg claims that his face would be too distracting in a Star Wars film, then perhaps he would be a useful candidate to play a motion capture character? Only time will tell.

UPDATE: Six Weeks After Leg Injury, Ford is Walking

By: Lillian Skye

72 year old Harrison Ford was recently photographed walking in Santa Monica, just six weeks after news broke that the actor had sustained an injury on the Star Wars set. Although Ford was seen walking unassisted, there has been no confirmation that he is fully recovered.

While filming for Episode VII took a two week break to account for Ford's recovery, Disney has stressed that the delay will not deter the film's December 18th, 2015 release date.

Message from J.J., Episode VII X-wing Revealed

By: Lillian Skye

J.J. Abrams is back with another video update on Force for Change and speaks to fans from London from what appears to be the set of Episode VII. In the video, Abrams encourages fans to support Force for Change, noting that there is still one week left to donate and that the campaign has supporters from 119 countries. The money raised from Force for Change will benefit UNICEF, and each donation counts as an entry. Every person who donates will be entered in a drawing for a chance to film a scene in Episode VII. In the final week of the campaign, fans also have the chance to win a private advanced screening of the movie in their home town.

What's special about the video, however, is what's unfolding around Abrams. As J.J. addresses the fans, the camera is slowly zooming out, revealing a large vessel behind the director. As the video progresses, the entire ship is revealed and a pilot walks across the sand and towards the vehicle. Abrams steps out of the pilot's way as he ascends the ladder and climbs into the ship.

Star Wars fans took to Twitter, questioning the authenticity of the vehicle and prompting a response form the official Star Wars twitter account, which confirmed that the ship is "an Episode VII X-wing."

"Thanks for your support. Hope to see you on set this summer," Abrams says as a mouse droid zooms past his feet. See the entire video from Abrams below, and support Force for Change for the opportunity to win a trip to the Episode VII set to film a scene in the movie.
