Zac Efron Confirms he "Met With Them" About Episode VII

A few months back, Latino Review brought us a rumor that almost everyone wrote off as fake, that High School Musical star Zac Efron had gone in for an audition for Star Wars Episode VII.  Well turns out it was true!  Efron spoke with MTV recently and was asked about the rumor and replied,

"Yeah, I just went and met with them, so I don't know,  it would be cool.  I love [the Star Wars movies], I love them, but...who knows?"

Of all the crazy rumors that have come out in the past year, this was one I thought for sure was fake.  This certainly bolsters Latino Review's credibility, which has been waning in the past few months.  And before everyone starts complaining about Disney casting a Disney Channel star in Episode VII, remember this would not be the first time Efron has appeared in a Star Wars project.  Efron played Anakin Skywalker in Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III.

While Efron wouldn't be my first pick for Star Wars, I wouldn't be too quick to write him off either.   As he said, he is a Star Wars fan, so he'd take the part seriously.  And he does have talent when it comes to acting.

And if you're still worried about this, remember it was just a meeting, there's still a good chance Efron will not be in the film...
